    Abstract: A virtual space configuration unit 23 detects, on the basis of depth information of an image of a real space around a user, a position of an object in the real space and arrange a virtual body at a position in a virtual space corresponding to the detected position of the object to configure information of the virtual space. An image generation unit 25 generates an image of the virtual space configured by the virtual space configuration unit 23. A depth comparison unit 22 compares the depth information of the image of the real space and depth information of the image of the virtual space to decide an unknown depth region. The image generation unit 25 displays information indicative of presence of an unknown object in the unknown depth region of the image of the virtual space.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image processing apparatus connected with a display apparatus used by a user wearing the apparatus at a head portion thereof. The image processing apparatus acquires information on a reality space around the user, detects positions of objects in the reality space based on the acquired information on the reality space, and configures information on a virtual space by disposing a virtual body at a position in the virtual space corresponding to the detected position of each of the objects. The image processing apparatus further generates an image of the configured virtual space and outputs the generated image to the display apparatus.

    Abstract: A skeleton model update apparatus, a skeleton model update method, and a program capable of making natural a motion of a skeleton model at a time of occurrence of a collision, compared with an existing technology are provided. An initial position determination section identifies a position to which one or each of a plurality of given nodes included in a skeleton model is to move. A posture update section updates a posture of the skeleton model by executing inverse kinematics computing on the basis of the position to which the one or each of the plurality of given nodes is to move. At a time of occurrence of a collision to one or a plurality of nodes included in the skeleton model, the posture update section updates the posture of the skeleton model by executing the inverse kinematics computing taking into account of an influence of the collision on the one or the plurality of nodes.
