Abstract: A light sensing system includes a plurality of light-emitting devices arranged to have a first optical axis and a plurality of light-receiving devices arranged to have a second optical axis, the second optical axis being parallel with the first optical axis. The plurality of light-emitting devices and the plurality of light-receiving devices are formed to have a monolithically integrated structure, and the first optical axis and the second optical axis are substantially coaxial to each other, thus improving the efficiency of light reception.

Each of the transmission type optical modulation devices also includes a plurality of drivers provided which independently apply an electric signal to each of the nanostructure rows to control a phase change thereof.

The optical modulation device may include a plurality of reflectors located on a driving circuit substrate, a plurality of nano-antennas located on the plurality of reflectors, and an active layer located between the plurality of reflectors and the plurality of nano-antennas and patterned to have a plurality of openings. The optical modulation device may further include a plurality of first connection members configured to electrically connect the driving circuit substrate to the plurality of reflectors and a plurality of second connection members configured to electrically connect the driving circuit substrate to the plurality of nano-antennas. The plurality of second connection members may be connected to the plurality of nano-antennas through the plurality of openings.
