    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device, such as a user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a sidelink beam reporting resource configuration. The UE may receive a set of reference beams from a second device (e.g., another UE) over a sidelink. In some examples, the UE may perform a set of beam measurements based on a beam measurement occasion during at least one of a time period before an active duration. The UE may transmit a beam measurement report to the second device in accordance with the sidelink beam reporting resource configuration. The beam measure report being transmitted during at least one of a time period before the active duration, a time period during the active duration, or a combination thereof. The beam measurement report may be based on the set of beam measurements associated with the set of reference beams.

A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a sidelink beam failure reporting configuration including a set of sidelink beam failure reporting events. The communication device may identify occurrence of a sidelink beam failure reporting event, and may transmit a beam measurement report to another communication device over a sidelink in accordance with the sidelink beam failure reporting configuration. The transmission of the beam measurement report may be triggered based on the sidelink beam failure reporting event.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless communications systems may support beam measurements triggered by a wake-up signal (WUS) and that triggers an active duration of a receiving user equipment (UE). The WUS may trigger the receiving UE to perform a beam sweeping procedure during a beam measurement occasion that immediately preceding the active duration, or the UE may perform the beam sweeping procedure in the WUS resource itself. A UE may perform beam measurement procedures during active durations of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, or outside of active durations of the DRX cycle. A receiving UE may be configured with a timing for performing a beam measurement procedure based on one or more offset values. The timing offset values may indicate a timing during active durations or prior to active durations.
