Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a Multiprotocol Label Switching traffic engineering tunnel establishing method and device. A tunnel establishing method includes: receiving, by a second routing device, an identifier, which is sent by a first routing device, of an MPLS TE tunnel from a first VPN instance to a second VPN instance; acquiring, by the second routing device according to the identifier, path information of the MPLS TE tunnel from the first VPN instance to the second VPN instance; and establishing an MPLS TE tunnel from the second VPN instance to the first VPN instance according to the acquired path information. Therefore, forward and reverse bidirectional tunnels are co-routed or partially co-routed, thereby solving a problem caused by non-co-routing during BFD.

Abstract: A Border Gateway Protocol Monitoring Protocol (BMP) module sends to a Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) module a request for acquiring a capability information set; the BGP module traverses BGP capability data stored in the BGP module to acquire all BGP capability data configured in the network device and sends all the BGP capability to the BMP module; and the BMP module sends to the monitoring server an initial capability information set message carrying all the BGP capability data and a device identifier of the network device. By means of capability extension of a network device, the network device can acquire, through interaction between a BGP module and a BMP module, all BGP capabilities configured in the network device and send all the BGP capabilities to a monitoring server, so that the monitoring server can fully understand actual capability supported by the entire network, further providing an effective basis for deployment of and decision on the entire network.

Abstract: This application provides a packet transmission method, apparatus, and device. For example, the method is performed by an ingress node. The ingress node obtains a second packet by using first node information carried in a first packet, where the first node information includes a first bit string indicating N next-hop devices of the ingress node and first reference information used for indexing second node information corresponding to a first intermediate node in the N next-hop devices, and the second packet includes a first identifier determined based on the first reference information. The ingress node sends the second packet to the first intermediate node. Because structures of the first bit string and the first reference information are used, a packet encoding manner is simple, so that packet transmission efficiency is improved.

Abstract: The present application discloses a packet forwarding method, including: determining, by an Ingress PE in an Ethernet virtual private network instance (EVI), that a state of the EVI on a first Egress PE is Active, where an Ethernet virtual private network (EVPN) corresponding to the EVI includes a first CE; determining, by the Ingress PE, that a state of the EVI on a second Egress PE is Inactive; skipping, by the Ingress PE, forwarding a broadcast, unknown unicast, and multicast BUM packet to the second Egress PE, where the BUM packet is from the first CE; and forwarding, by the Ingress PE, the BUM packet to the first Egress PE. Repeated BUM traffic that is transmitted in a bearer network and is not finally sent to a remote site is reduced; therefore, a waste of bandwidth in the bearer network is reduced.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a path determining method, apparatus, and system. In a hybrid network including one controller for implementing a control function, the controller may separately obtain network topology information of a first network and a second network of different network types by using a same control channel protocol. When the controller obtains a path determining requirement for the data transmission path, because the controller has the network topology information of the first network and the second network, during computation of the data transmission path, the controller can determine a path computation result including transmission path parts of the first network and the second network, without performing additional information exchange with another device, and send the path computation result to the first network device. In this way, planning efficiency of the data transmission path is improved.
