    摘要: A catalyst complex for fuel cells and a method for manufacturing an electrode including the same are disclosed. The catalyst complex for fuel cells, which is included in an electrode for fuel cells, includes a first catalyst configured to cause hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) and a second catalyst configured to cause water electrolysis reaction, i.e., oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The outer surface of the first catalyst is coated with a first ionomer binder, the outer surface of the second catalyst is coated with a second ionomer binder, and an equivalent weight (EW) of the second ionomer binder differs from an equivalent weight (EW) of the first ionomer binder.

    摘要: A gas diffusion layer (GDL) for fuel cell applications that can prevented channels of a bipolar plate from being intruded. The gas diffusion layer is manufactured by cutting a GDL material at a certain angle such that a machine direction of the inherent high stiffness of the GDL material is not in parallel with a major flow field direction of a bipolar plate to prevent the GDL intrusion into the channels of the bipolar plate without modifying an existing method for manufacturing the gas diffusion layer. With the gas diffusion layer, the electrochemical performance of the fuel cell can be improved and manufacturing process can be improved even in the case where the width of the rolled GDL material is small.

    摘要: A system for activating a fuel cell includes a flow meter for measuring the amount of water discharged from an outlet of the air electrode and an outlet of the fuel electrode; a pressure sensor for measuring the pressure at the respective outlets; and a back pressure regulator receiving flow values measured by the flow meters and pressure values measured by the pressure sensors, which are fed back from a controller, and regulating a pressure difference (ΔP=PCathode−PAnode) to be a value greater than 0. With the system, the activation time of a fuel cell and the amount of hydrogen used for the activation can be reduced, thus improving the productivity and manufacturing cost.

    摘要: Disclosed are an antioxidant for fuel cells, a membrane electrode assembly including the same and a method for preparing the antioxidant. The antioxidant for fuel cells includes a core including at least one selected from the group consisting of a metal oxide (MxOk) and a complex metal oxide (MxNyOj, N and M being different metals), and an outer portion (e.g., a shell) located on or over a surface of the core and formed by performing reduction treatment of the surface of the core using a thiourea-based compound. The outer portion includes metal cations (M(x-n)+, n being a natural number of 1 or more) having a smaller oxidation number than a valency of the metal (M) of the core.
