摘要: A method includes receiving a frame containing an object of interest and determining a current pixel density of the object of interest. The current pixel density is compared to a minimum pixel density to generate a comparison result and an indication is received of available throughput of a wireless network used to transmit the video. Based on the comparison result and the available throughput, a pixel density compensation method is selected from multiple methods, which include adjusting a zoom feature of a camera used to capture the video and adjusting encoded frame resolution. Using the selected pixel density compensation method, a pixel density compensation parameter is determined to adjust the current pixel density with respect to the minimum pixel density for the object of interest. The pixel density compensation parameter is provided to one or both of the camera or an encoder that sends the video over the wireless network.

摘要: A method for bearer reservation, maintenance, and use in a communication system is performed by an intermediary function (IF) in the enterprise network. The IF processes a user plane reservation request for a flow of user plane data from a sourcing device, and determines a set of bearers to transport the flow of user plane data. The IF requests from at least one access network the determined set of bearers, and receives from the at least one access network an allocated set of bearers, wherein the allocated set of bearers comprises one or more bearers. The IF receives the flow of user plane data from the sourcing device. The IF receives an indication that at least one of the bearers in the allocated set of bearers is unavailable, and prevents at least a portion of the flow of user plane data from being transmitted over the default bearer.

摘要: A method and apparatus for granting wireless connection resources for a UE within a communication system is provided herein. During operation, an application requests allocation of wireless communication resources (a bearer reservation) to sustain transmission at a specified bit rate across the communication system via an admission control function. In response to the bearer reservation request, an admission control function calculates a wireless connection efficiency as a function of the requested bit rate and an amount of shared wireless connection resources required to sustain the requested bit rate given the current wireless connection quality associated with the UE. The wireless connection efficiency is then utilized to determine whether or not to admit the bearer reservation request.

摘要: A method and apparatus for identifying a suspect through location and time events is provided herein. During operation a central server continuously receives updates from multiple networks regarding device identifiers and associated access points. When an event (e.g., a crime) occurs at a certain location, an access point(s) near the event are identified and devices associated with the access point(s) at the time of the event are determined. The identified devices are then utilized to determine potential suspects.

摘要: A method (400) of implementing floor control in a communications system (100). The method can include receiving a random symbol from each of a plurality of communication devices (104, 106, 108, 110, 112) or network nodes (204, 206, 208, 210, 212). From the plurality of random symbols, a random symbol that satisfies a criteria can be identified. Floor ownership can be granted to a selected one of the communication devices associated with the identified random symbol or from which the identified random symbol was received.

摘要: A service request (150) having a predefined QoS (152) can be received from an end-user device (105) by a transit device (110). The transit device (110) can act as an access point for the end-user device (105) to connect to a mobile broadband network (135). A transport resource (130) of the transit device (110) can be allocated to handle a data flow of the received service request (150). The network address of the allocated transport resource (130) can be recognized by the mobile broadband network (135). The network addresses associated with data packets (160) of each data flow supporting the service request (150) can be translated by the transit device (110). The translation can occur between the network address of the end-user device (105) and the network address of the transport resource (130) allocated to the data flow based upon a directionality of the data packets (160).

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for communicating a flow of packets with a requested quality of service. An exemplary method involves receiving a first packet of a flow, determining a first reference value for the packet flow identification field of the first packet using a key value, and facilitating the requested quality of service for the first packet when the received value of the packet flow identification field of the first packet matches the first reference value. The method continues by receiving a second packet of the flow, determining a second reference value for the packet flow identification field using the key value, and facilitating the requested quality of service for the second packet when the received value of the packet flow identification field of the second packet matches the second reference value.
