Abstract:
An elevator assembly having a looped track assembly and a chain assembly having rollers which roll on the looped track assembly. The chain assembly includes spaced apart pin holders extending from the chain. A sprocket drive assembly engages the chain assembly.
Abstract:
Components (anti-idling system) for use with a pinspotter system and method of installation is described herein. The anti-idling system includes an anti-idling channel provided underneath a pit conveyor belt adjacent a rear roller of the pit conveyor belt and an elevator system of a pinspotter assembly. The anti-idling channel has a fastening mechanism structured to attach the anti-idling channel to a sidewall of the pinspotter assembly.
Abstract:
A safety valve for a lawn sprinkler system having at least one subterranean flow line and at least one head for spraying irrigation water. The valve includes a tubular member connected between the flow line and the head. The tubular member has an axial passage therethrough for the flow of water from the flow line to the head. A seat is located within the passage. A ball is located in the passage upstream of the seat. The ball is axially movable from an open position upstream of the seat to a closed position in engagement with the seat if the water flowing through passage reaches a selected flow rate. A coiled spring in the passage is in engagement with the ball for urging the ball toward the open position.
Abstract:
A bowling pin storage bin assembly for use as part of a bowling pin delivery system of a pinspotter apparatus, as well as a method of manufacturing such bin. The storage bin is molded as a one-piece article having a plurality of cavities or pockets for storing bowling pins in an essentially horizontal plane above a pin spotter and for delivering the pins to a plurality of pin cups or a pin spotter for spotting on a pin deck.
Abstract:
An exemplary inertial measurement apparatus incorporates self-calibrating bias correction signals. First and second inertial instruments generate respective input signals representative of an inertial attribute to be measured. A bias estimator generates first and second bias correction signals. First and second summation nodes receive the respective input signals and the respective first and second bias correction signals. The first and second summation nodes provide respective summed signals to the first and second inertial instruments. The first and second inertial instruments generate respective output signals representative of a value of the inertial attribute based on the respective summed signals. The bias estimator calculates the first and second bias correction signals based on first and second measurements made during respective first and second time intervals where a sign of one of the first and second bias error signals changes from one state during the first time interval to the other state during the second time interval.
Abstract:
An aircraft hot water supply system (10) comprising a group of water-use stations (14a–14f) each including a hot water line having a heater (40a–40f) which heats water at a heating rate dependent upon power provided thereto. A power manager (44) allocates different non-zero percentages of heater-dedicated power to different heaters (40) depending upon conditions at the corresponding water-use stations (14). A network (46) is provided to establish peer-to-peer communication among the heaters' controllers (48a–48f).
Abstract:
A novel filtration medium, preferably of the closed loop belt type, comprising a woven substrate which is overlaid by a disparate layer comprising a plurality of individual thermoplastic resin particulates which are controllably spaced apart from one another and bonded at fixed spaced apart locations to one to another and to the strands of the woven substrate. These resin particulates serve to define the pore structure and pore size for the medium. A method for the manufacture of the filtration medium is disclosed.
Abstract:
System for separating solids from slurry containing a separable solid in a liquid carrier, such as an industrial waste. The slurry is flowed into a separation chamber positioned over a slower moving foraminous medium to effect cross-flow separation of liquid from the slurry in an initial stage and followed by separation of solids from the slurry in a second stage all the separation being effected employing a single forwardly moving filtration medium. The flow rate of liquid, the rate of travel of the foraminous medium, and the differential pressure across the foraminous medium, as established by the pressure exerted by the flowing liquid on the foraminous medium and the relative pressure underneath the foraminous medium, are controlled at different locations along the length of the separation chamber to provide optimum steady-state separation for a given waste stream.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a novel cellulosic web and a method for its manufacture. The web is fabricated of fibrous material and is characterized by one of its surfaces being nubby. Such web is formed by the deposition of fibers from an aqueous slurry onto the surface of a multiplex forming fabric defining pockets in one surface thereof, under conditions of flow and rate of water removal that establish high shear fluid flow and result in the orientation of fibers and/or fiber segments at an angle with respect to the plane of the forming fabric. The resultant web has a high apparent bulk and good absorbency and strength properties.
Abstract:
A burn sheet comprising a plurality of layers laminated one to another and including a liquid-permeable top layer, a liquid-absorbent layer and a strength-imparting scrim layer. The scrim layer comprises an open pattern of crossing multifilamentary yarns bonded on one another at their crossings. The scrim is flattened prior to its incorporation into the burn sheet laminate so that cut ends of the scrim yarn monofilaments yield to the touch and the sheet is rendered conformable, and telegraphing of the scrim to the surface of the sheet is minimized. The sheet is suitable for use as a transfer sheet as well as for a burn sheet.
