Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to over-the-air uplink-downlink (UL-DL) reciprocity calibration. A central unit transmits downlink (DL) calibration reference signal (RS) and a calibration request. The central unit receives, in response to the calibration request, a first uplink (UL) calibration RS and a first DL channel estimate associated with a first transmission point (TP) and a first wireless communication device. The central unit transmits a DL coordinated multipoint (CoMP) joint transmission signal according to an uplink-downlink (UL-DL) reciprocity calibration. The UL-DL reciprocity calibration is based on at least a first UL channel estimate based on the first UL calibration RS, the first DL channel estimate, a second UL channel estimate associated with a second TP and the first wireless communication device, and a second DL channel estimate associated with the second TP and the first wireless communication device.

Abstract: Methods and Apparatus are provided for downlink retransmission of Code Block Groups (CBGs) when CBG level ACK and NACK feedback is unreliable. A User Equipment (UE) transmits to a Base Station (BS) feedback indicating an Acknowledgement (ACK) or a Negative Acknowledgement (NACK) corresponding to each of received set of CBGs transmitted by the BS to the UE. The BS receives and decodes the feedback and transmits back to the UE information regarding a result of the decoding. The UE, based on the received information, determines whether the BS correctly received and decoded the ACK/NACK feedback, and in some cases, ACKs and NACKs corresponding to which CBGs were incorrectly decoded by the BS. The UE processes retransmitted CBGs received from the BS based on this determination.

Abstract: The present disclosure may enable a buffer to accommodate HARQ processes for transmissions with different TTIs when the UE is configured for legacy communications and ULL communications. The apparatus may allocate a first number of HARQ IDs to a first portion of a buffer, the first number of HARQ IDs being associated with a first transmission TTI HARQ process. In addition, the apparatus may allocate a second number of HARQ IDs to a second portion of the buffer. In an aspect, the second number of HARQ IDs may be associated with a second TTI HARQ process. In addition, the first portion and second portion may not change a total buffer size. The apparatus may also receive a HARQ response associated with a HARQ ID allocated to the first portion or the second portion.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for identifying uplink transmissions that are to be made using shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs), and allocating uplink resources for such transmissions. A portion of the uplink resources may be reserved for reference signal transmissions, such as demodulation reference signal (DMRS) transmissions. Resources for a number of sTTIs may be aligned within a slot that comprises a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, and one of the OFDM symbols may have resources reserved that are to be shared by two or more sTTIs within the slot for DMRS transmission. The reserved OFDM symbol may be shared by two overlapping sTTIs in which the reserved OFDM symbol is common between the two sTTIs. A DMRS sequence for each sTTI may be selected based on the allocated uplink resources for the sTTIs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In systems supporting multiple communication protocol types (e.g., ultra-reliable low-latency communication and enhance mobile broadband communication), a user equipment may implement multiplexing rules for handling overlapping transmissions of different communication protocols. For example, if lower latency data supports multiplexing with higher latency data and a lower latency resource overlaps (either partially or completely) with a higher latency resource, a number of options can be taken to control multiplexing. Similarly, if low latency uplink control information supports multiplexing with a slot-based physical uplink shared channel, and the physical uplink shared channel has its own uplink control information, a number of options can be taken to control multiplexing. If slot-based uplink control information overlaps (either partially or completely) with low latency data, then, likewise, a number of options can be taken to control multiplexing. Controlling multiplexing may support meeting low latency thresholds.

Abstract: Improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support search space design are described. The described techniques enhance the number and utility of applied control channel candidates in the presence of blind decoding and control channel element (CCE) channel estimation limitations. The techniques allocate available blind decodes using a nested mapping scheme over one or more dimensions, based on a prioritization. In some other cases, the number of blind decodes may be allocated, either uniformly, or proportionally, between the plurality of search space set occasions. In some cases, the applied control channel candidates may be determined by dropping control channel candidates along one or more dimensions (e.g., search space set, or search space set occasion), until the blind decoding limitation or CE limitation is satisfied.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some cases, due to blind decoding and channel estimation (CE) limits, one or more user equipment (UE) specific search sets may be pruned for blind decoding and/or CE purposes. For instance, after hashing a set of common decoding candidates to control channel elements (CCEs) within the control region, the UE specific search sets may be pruned so as to conform to the blind decode limitation, since a common search space has already occupied a portion of the total blind decode limit. Following pruning, the UE may hash the sets of UE-specific decoding candidates associated with the one or more UE specific search sets to CCEs within the control region. The UE may further prune UE specific search sets, based on CE limits, while reusing CE for overlapping hashed locations.

Abstract: Techniques are described that provide for generation of a first transport block (TB) that includes a number of code blocks (CBs) that are transmitted to a receiver during a first transmission time interval (TTI) having a first duration, and retransmission of any unsuccessfully received CBs in a second TTI having a duration that is selected from multiple available TTI durations. The second TTI may have a second TTI duration that is shorter than the first TTI duration, and may have CBs only from the first TB. One or more of a time duration or frequency resources of the second TTI may be selected based on the number of CBs that are retransmitted in the second TTI.
