    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for aperiodic channel state information (A-CSI) feedback scheduling for cross-carriers. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes receiving on a first component carrier (CC) signaling indicating an aperiodic channel state information (CSI) report request for a plurality of CCs; determining schedules for at least CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) transmissions on the CCs based on the received signaling; monitoring CSI-RS transmissions on the CCs according to the determined schedules; and reporting CSI feedback based on CSI-RS measurements of the CSI-RS transmissions.

    Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for configuring differential channel state information (CSI) reporting for high resolution CSI are provided. One technique includes determining a configuration for a user equipment (UE) to use for reporting differential CSI feedback. The configuration includes at least an indication of when the UE is to report differential CSI feedback, and is signaled to the UE. Once received, the UE reports differential CSI feedback according to the configuration.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe receiving, from an access point, an indication of at least one of a beamforming method for beamforming a RS or a normalization method for normalizing power for beamforming the RS. A channel covariance matrix corresponding to interference over a plurality of antenna ports can be generated, as well as a RS beamforming matrix based at least in part on at least one of modifying the channel covariance matrix or on the normalization method. The RS can be generated based on the RS beamforming matrix and the beamforming method. The RS can be transmitted to the access point based on the RS beamforming matrix.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resources that specify the resource elements (REs) on which a CSI-RS may be transmitted, along with a set of ports at the base station from which the CSI-RS may be transmitted. Within the set of ports for particular CSI-RS resource, one or more port groups may further be configured. Each port group identifies a group of ports associated with a channel. In some examples, a port group identifies the ports on which CSI may be measured. Other ports within the set of ports that are outside the port group may be utilized for interference measurement.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for linear precoding in full-dimensional MIMO (FD-MIMO) systems. According to aspects, an eNB may compress a larger number of antenna elements to a smaller number of antenna ports. The eNB may use a port precoding matrix to transmit reference signals to a UE, receive feedback regarding CSI based on the reference signals, and transmit data to the UE, based on a mapping of multiple data layers and mapping of antenna ports to the physical antenna elements. Further, aspects include performing elevation beamforming by dynamically forming one or more vertical sectors based on UE feedback in the elevation domain.
