Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink preemption indication. A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving at least one ULPI from a base station (BS) indicating, for each of a plurality of sets of uplink resources, a power level the UE can use for one or more uplink transmissions. The UE can determine one or more power levels indicated by the ULPI for resources allocated for the UE for uplink transmission. The allocated resources may include multiple of the sets of uplink resources. The UE can select the power level to use for uplink transmission using the allocated resources based, at least in part, on the determination. The UE sends or drops the one or more uplink transmissions according to the ULPI. A time duration of the plurality of sets of uplink resources can be longer than a configured ULPI monitoring periodicity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device (e.g., a base station or a user equipment (UE)) may identify a sequence length corresponding to a number of resource blocks, and select a modulation scheme based on the sequence length. The device may select, from a set of sequences associated with the modulation scheme, a sequence having the sequence length. In some examples, the set of sequences may include at least one of a set of time domain phase shift keying computer-generated sequences or a set of frequency domain phase shift keying computer-generated sequences. The device may generate a reference signal for a data transmission based on the sequence and transmit the reference signal within the number of resource blocks.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support increasing a sidelink feedback channel reliability. A second user equipment (UE) may transmit a sidelink message to a first UE, and the first UE may provide feedback for the sidelink message via an associated feedback opportunity. The first UE may perform frequency hopping from one symbol to another during the feedback opportunity, may transmit the feedback using multiple physical resource blocks (PRBs) within one symbol of the feedback opportunity, or both. A pattern for frequency hopping, or for the multiple PRBs, or both, may be defined or determined by a base station, the first UE, the second UE, or any combination thereof. In some cases, a pattern for frequency hopping or for PRB bundling may be defined or preconfigured at the first UE, the second UE, or both.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to an uplink transmission cancellation mechanism that determines processing time for UEs configured with mixed processing capabilities are described. Specifically, methods and systems are provided for a UE to determine which processing capability to rely on to determine the minimum processing time for cancellation. For example, when a UE is configured with a faster processing capability and a slower processing capability, the UE may be configured to always rely on the faster, or the slower processing capability. Alternatively, the UE may be configured to consider factors such as the uplink channel type, uplink channel priority, the cause of the cancellation, the priority of uplink grant, or any combination thereof, to determine whether to rely on the faster or the slower capability to obtain the minimum processing time for cancellation.

Abstract: Aspects relate to cross-carrier scheduling in wireless communication. A scheduling entity generates scheduling information that schedules a plurality of data transmissions to or from a user equipment (UE) on a first carrier having a first numerology. The scheduling entity then transmits the scheduling information to the UE on a second carrier having a second numerology different than (e.g., less than) the first numerology. The scheduling information is transmitted using control resources allocated based on slot indexes of a plurality of slots configured for communicating the data transmissions on the first carrier.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may separately encode lower priority uplink control information (UCI) and higher priority UCI, and multiplex the encoded lower priority UCI and the encoded higher priority UCI on the same physical uplink channel (e.g., a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH)). The UE may be configured with multiple coding rates, which the UE may select from based on a payload size associated with each of the lower priority UCI and the higher priority UCI. Alternatively, the UE may be configured with a separate set of coding rates for the lower priority UCI and a separate set of coding rates for the higher priority UCI. The UE may multiplex the lower priority UCI and the higher priority UCI by mapping to physical uplink channel resources based on an order (e.g., mapping higher priority UCI followed by mapping lower priority UCI).

The UE may transmit, to the base station via the PUCCH format 1 and based at least in part on the downlink data, a second HARQ-ACK bit associated with a low priority using a second quantity of symbols that is less than the first quantity of symbols. The first UE may receive, from a second UE over a sidelink channel, a first channel state information report, a second channel state information report, and a first transmission configuration indicator, The first UE may select at least one of the first channel state information report or the second channel state information report to be canceled based on receiving an indication associated with the first transmission configuration indicator. The first UE may cancel information included in at least one of the first channel state information report or the second channel state information report based at least in part on the selecting. The first UE may receive a data transmission based at least in part on the cancelling.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In one example, a base station may dynamically configure a user equipment (UE) to monitor or avoid monitoring for a preemption indication. Accordingly, the UE may have a lower chance of monitoring for a preemption indication when it is unlikely that an uplink or downlink transmission will be preempted. In another example, a base station may transmit a control message indicating whether future indications received from the base station are to be interpreted as preemption indications or permission indications. Accordingly, the base station may choose to use either preemption indications or permission indications (e.g., based on the probability of collisions between mobile broadband (MBB) and low latency transmissions) to facilitate MBB and low latency communication multiplexing with limited signaling.
