    Abstract: Battery systems according to embodiments of the present technology may include a battery including a first electrode terminal and a second electrode terminal accessible along a first surface of the battery. The battery may define a recessed portion of the battery along the first surface of the battery between the first electrode terminal and the second electrode terminal. The battery systems may include a module electrically coupled with the battery. The module may include a circuit board. The module may include a first conductive tab extending from a second surface of the circuit board opposite the first surface of the circuit board. The first conductive tab may be electrically coupling the module with the first electrode terminal. The module may include a second conductive tab extending from the second surface of the circuit board. The second conductive tab may be electrically coupling the module with the second electrode terminal.

    Abstract: In some examples, a method comprises determining, at an electronic device having a first component of a first component type, a unique identifier associated with the first component. In some examples, in accordance with a determination that the unique identifier does not match the expected identifier of the component of the first component type in the electronic device, determining that the first component associated with the unique identifier satisfies one or more eligibility criteria. In some examples, in accordance with the determination that the first component associated with the unique identifier satisfies the one or more eligibility criteria, authenticating an association of the first component with the electronic device, including updating an installation counter associated with the first component, and updating the expected identifier for the component of the first type based on the unique identifier of the first component.

    Abstract: Certain embodiments disclosed herein provide application-specific launch optimization. Aspects of the present disclosure include one or more cost functions for each application, where each cost function corresponds to a likelihood that a particular application should be placed into a particular pre-activation state. For each of the inactive applications, a respective one of the pre-activation states is selected based on comparing cost values obtained by evaluating the cost functions. Each of the inactive applications can be moved to or maintained in the respectively-selected pre-activation state to more efficiently provide an expedited application launch experience for a user.

    Abstract: A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing. The head-mounted housing may have rear-facing displays that display images for a user. The images are viewable from eye boxes while the head-mounted device is being worn by the user. The displays may be mounted in left and right optical modules that have respective left and right lenses. A positioning system may be used to adjust the spacing between the left and right optical modules to accommodate different interpupillary distances. An adjustable heat extraction system may be provided that includes fans configured to force air between airflow inlets and outlets past heat sinks. The heat sinks may have fins that are adjusted in orientation and/or that are otherwise adjusted based on changes in optical module spacing. The airflow inlets and/or outlets may have adjustable louvers or other movable members that allow these ports to be fully opened, fully closed, or partly closed.

    Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for non-small data transmission (non-SDT) dedicated radio bearer (DRB) handling while in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state. A wireless device may determine, while operating in the RRC inactive state, that non-SDT data is available for transmission on a non-SDT DRB and determine, based on one or more conditions, to transmit, to a base station, non-SDT data arrival information during an SDT procedure. The one or more conditions may be associated with arrival time of the non-SDT data and/or an amount of non-SDT data to be transmitted. The arrival time may be relative to arrival of SDT data, initiation of an SDT procedure, and/or initiation of a subsequent transmission period of an SDT procedure.
