Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to network power saving are provided. In one embodiment, a base station (BS) of a wireless communication network determines to enter a sleep mode. The BS transmits, to one or more user equipment (UEs) of the wireless communication network, a communication signal indicating that the BS will enter the sleep mode. The BS operates in the sleep mode for a sleep mode period. In one embodiment, a UE receives, from a BS, a communication signal indicating that the BS will enter a sleep mode for a sleep mode period. The UE refrains, during one or more sleep windows of the sleep mode period, from performing uplink communications.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one example, a method includes receiving signaling from a base station to activate a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration for transmission between the base station and the UE, and receiving a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARM) timing for downlink transmissions based at least in part on the SPS configuration being activated. In another example, the method includes establishing a connection with a base station using a component carrier (CC), the CC having a plurality of bandwidth parts (BWPs), receiving signaling that indicates an SPS configuration or other types of pre-configured resources associated with at least a first BWP of the plurality of BWPs and transmitting or receiving using at least the first BWP according to the SPS configuration or other types of pre-configured resources associated with at least the first BWP.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit a UE capability message to a base station, the UE capability message including an indication of a UE type, wherein the UE type is associated with at least one of a reduced bandwidth, or a reduced number of antennas, or a combination thereof for the UE. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the UE capability message, a downlink grant for downlink resources for a data transmission in accordance with a resource allocation scheme, wherein the resource allocation scheme is associated with the UE type and a supported bandwidth part of the UE. The UE may monitor a wireless channel based at least in part on the downlink grant. The UE may receive the data transmission based at least in part on the monitoring of the wireless channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may implement cross-carrier scheduling. A user equipment (UE) may identify a minimum scheduling delay and may receive a downlink grant on a first CC. The UE may further identify the slot in which a downlink data transmission corresponding to the downlink grant will be received, and may identify the slot such that the minimum scheduling delay is satisfied. The UE may the receive the downlink data transmission, as indicated in the downlink grant, in the identified slot. In some examples, the UE and the base station may alternate between a long minimum scheduling delay and a short minimum scheduling delay. In some examples, the UE and the base station may alternate between a cross-carrier mode, and a self-scheduling mode.

A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a duty cycle for cycling between a first power state associated with a first configuration and a second power state associated with a second configuration. In some examples, the first and second configurations may indicate a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration, restricted reception or transmission of one or more channels within the BWP configuration, or both for the UE. The UE may communicate first data traffic in accordance with the first configuration while operating in the first power state. The UE may transition from the first power state to the second power state in accordance with the duty cycle. The UE may communicate second data traffic in accordance with the second configuration while operating in the second power state.
