    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include receiving radio resource control signaling configured with a first set of demodulation reference signal parameters for transmission of an uplink data channel of a type, receiving downlink control information of a format to activate the transmission of the uplink data channel, identifying a second set of demodulation reference signal parameters for transmission of the uplink data channel of the type based on the received downlink control information, and activating the transmission of the uplink data channel using the first and second set of demodulation reference signal parameters.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may be configured with multiple control resource sets (CORESETs) within a slot. The UE may identify a set of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions to monitor within the slot, where each PDCCH occasion corresponds to a search space set for a CORESET. The UE may determine a first configuration and a second configuration for monitoring the PDCCH occasions, where the first configuration corresponds to slot-based thresholds and the second configuration corresponds to symbol-based or occasion-based thresholds for monitoring. These thresholds may specify a threshold number of PDCCH candidates to blind decode, a threshold number of non-overlapping control channel elements (CCEs) to perform channel estimation for, or both, where the threshold numbers support low latency processing at the UE. Either the configuration or the UE may enforce the thresholds.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to serving wireless communication devices using multi-radio access technology (multi-RAT) transmission diversity are provided. A first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device in a first frequency band allocated to a first radio access technology (RAT), first data using the first RAT. The first wireless communication device reconfigures a first resource in a second frequency band allocated to a second RAT different from the first RAT from implementing a configuration of the second RAT to implementing a configuration of the first RAT. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device in the second frequency band, second data using the first resource implementing the configuration of the first RAT.

    Abstract: An apparatus may utilize an air interface to transmit and/or receive a subframe having a data portion and a control channel that is at least partly embedded within the data portion. The control channel may include one or more pilot tones. The control channel may include an override indicator. The override indicator may indicate that data previously scheduled for transmission in the subframe is overridden by other data having a higher priority. The override indicator may indicate a puncturing of resource elements in the data portion of the subframe to include other data having a priority higher than data previously scheduled for transmission in the subframe. The control channel may include a modulation indicator when the subframe is included in a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission. The modulation indicator may indicate information corresponding to a modulation of another apparatus that is included in the MU-MIMO transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to determine a priority indicator for an upcoming transmission between the UE and a base station and transmit the priority indicator to the base station. The base station may receive the priority indicator, determine a network condition, and may transmit control information for a downlink transmission. The control information may include an indication of a set of modulation and coding schemes to select from a plurality of sets of modulation and coding schemes and an index value for an entry in the selected set of modulation and coding scheme, where the indication is based on the priority indicator and a network condition. The UE may identify a combination of a modulation order and a code rate for the downlink transmission based on the indication of modulation and coding scheme table and the index value.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify one or more first user equipments (UEs) that have been configured for grant-free transmissions on an allocation of resources. In some cases, the base station may then schedule an uplink transmission for a second UE on resources that overlap the allocation of resources. Accordingly, the base station may transmit a power adjustment indication (PAI) to the one or more first UEs to adjust a transmit power for uplink transmissions on the overlapping resources. In some cases, the PAI may include an indication of frequency-domain resources for the power adjustment indicated in the PAI, a specified time duration for the power adjustment indicated in the PAI, an indication of specific uplink transmissions to which the transmit power adjustment is to be applied, or a combination thereof.
