A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The light-sensitive material is excellent in reproducibility of blue-green or green colored photographic subject. The light-sensitive material has a blue-sensitive layer, green-sensitive layer and a red-sensitive layer. The blue-sensitive layer has the maximum spectral sensitivity at a wavelength within the range of 415 to 470 nm and the spectral sensitivity at 480 nm of the blue-sensitive layer is not more than 35% of the maximum sensitivity. The green-sensitive layer has the maximum spectral sensitivity at a wavelength within the range of 530 nm to 560 nm and the spectral sensitivity at 500 nm of the green-sensitive layer is not less than 25% of the maximum sensitivity.

A process for manufacturing a silver halide color photographic material is disclosed. The photographic material comprises a blue light-sensitive layer-unit, a green light-sensitive layer-unit and a red light-sensitive layer-unit in which at least one of the light-sensitive layer-units comprises two or three silver halide emulsion layers being substantially the same in spectral sensitivity and different in speed from each other. The manufacturing process comprises steps ofproducing a high-speed silver halide emulsion having a largest average grain size among the silver halide emulsions to be used in the at least one light sensitive layer-unit,chemically sensitizing the high-speed silver halide emulsion, producing a low-speed silver halide emulsion having a smaller average grain size than that of the high-speed emulsion,chemically sensitizing the low-speed emulsion,mixing the chemically sensitized high-speed and the chemically sensitized low-speed emulsion in a ratio of from 5:95 to 50:50 by weight in terms of silver, andcoating the chemically sensitized high-speed emulsion and the mixture of the chemically sensitized high-speed emulsion and the chemically sensitized low-speed emulsion to form the at least one light-sensitive layer-unit.The photographic material is improved in adaptability to fluctuation of processing conditions.

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic material having (A) a red-sensitive, (B) a green-sensitive, and (C) a blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, wherein the silver halide emulsion of each layer is a high-silver-chloride emulsion, and the silver halide emulsions of the red-sensitive and blue-sensitive layers is spectrally sensitized in the blue light region within a range satisfying specific relationships. Further two or more silver halide emulsions are mixed so that the gammas of the (A) red-sensitive and the (B) green-sensitive layers in the photosensitive region of the blue-sensitive layer may be in a limited range. The disclosure as described provides a silver halide color photographic material which can form a color image giving a stereoscopic feeling that can reproduce bright primary colors less in turbidity over the range from the low-density part to the high-density part, and which can produce fully the high-density region of primary colors with subtle shades.

An image forming method suitable for forming a color proof is disclosed. The method comprises (1) a step for exposing a silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material, which is comprised of a support having thereon photographic component layers including a yellow image-forming blue-sensitive, a magenta image forming green-sensitive and a cyan image-forming red-sensitive emulsion layer, to light through a transparent black-and-white halftone image and (2) a step for processing the exposed light-sensitive material to form a color image, wherein the photographic component layers contain a yellow water-soluble dye, a magenta water-soluble dye and a cyan water-soluble dyes and reflective densities of the silver halide color photographic material measured with light of 450 nm, 550 nm and 700 nm are each not less than 0.8, and toe portion gradations of characteristic curves of yellow, magenta and cyan images formed in the light-sensitive material by the processing are each not less than 1.7, and the toe portion gradations of the yellow, magnet and cyan image have the following relation:.vertline.1-.gamma..sub.A '/.gamma..sub.A .vertline..ltoreq.0.05wherein .gamma..sub.A ' is toe portion gradiation of one of the images, and .gamma..sub.A is that of another one of the images.

A silver halide color light-sensitive material is described, which is increased in sensitivity, is adapted to form an image of high contrast, or is accelerated in development by incorporating a small amount of a specific compound which imagewise releases a foggant or a development accelerator. This compound is represented by the formula: Coup-(TIME).sub.n -FA (wherein Coup represents a coupler radical capable of undergoing a coupling reaction with an oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent; TIME represents a timing group which is eliminated from Coup by the coupling reaction and, thereafter, releases FA; n is 0 or 1; and FA represents a group which is eliminated from Coup in the coupling reaction when n is 0, whereas FA is released from TIME when n is 1. The FA has adsorption properties with respect to silver halide grains and also has a substantial fogging action with respect to the silver halide grains).
