摘要: An insulated load bearing building wall structure comprising a plurality of spaced-apart stud members, each stud member comprising an exterior bar member, an interior bar member, and a plurality of wall ties connected there between. Interstitial blocks comprising a generally self-supporting insulating material are disposed between adjacent pairs of stud members. A surface coating material is disposed along the exterior and interior faces of the wall structure and in contact with the interstitial blocks. The wall ties each comprise a composite material that is resistant to heat transfer, thereby reducing the amount of heat transferred between the interior and exterior surfaces of the wall structure.

摘要: A window anti-fog system for preventing fogging between windowpanes. The window anti-fog system includes an aperture within a lower portion of a first windowpane, a gas container containing a pressurized volume of gas, and a delivery tube fluidly connected to the gas container with a distal portion inserted within the aperture within the first windowpane. The delivery tube preferably has a size smaller than the aperture for allowing air to escape, however, another opening within the windowpane may be utilized. The gas container preferably contains a gas lighter than air such as nitrogen. A valve between the gas container and the delivery tube controls the flow of the gas into the interior cavity between the first windowpane and a second windowpane. As the gas rises within the interior cavity, the gas eventually displaces the air within the interior cavity thereby forcing the air outwardly through the aperture about the delivery tube. This process continues during the life of the window unit to ensure that moisture and air do not enter the interior cavity. If a gas heavier than air is desired, such as argon gas, then the aperture is positioned within an upper portion of the first windowpane.

摘要: A panel clip assembly for use with skylight or roof panel systems and having allowance for reduced movement of panels both parallel and perpendicular to the seam formed by adjoining panels, together with improved allowance for rotational and pivotal movement of said panels. The panel clip includes a base member with a base plate and upward extending flanges; an interim mount member movably attached to the upward extending flanges of the base member by a pin assembly; and an upper clip assembly for receiving and constraining the panels. The upper clip member is movably attached to the mount member such that said clip member can slide in a direction parallel to the seam formed by adjoining roof panels. In addition, the mount member is capable of rotational movement in the plane of the panels and pivotal movement about the axis of the pin assembly. The clip assembly of the present invention therefore allows for a range of panel movements in response to forces including thermal expansion, seismic activity, loading on the panels and wind uplift.

摘要: An impact and energy absorbing product for floors, walls, panels, crash mats and other flat surfaces. More particularly, the invention teaches the usage of coiled springs in conjunction with polymeric materials or metals such as titanium or steel, to help absorb and dissipate forces of humans and other objects coming in contact with said flat surfaces. Depending upon the exact environment in which the same are to be used, the coiled springs may be constructed of polymers or metals such as titanium or steelnulllightweight, yet durable materials to accomplish the purposes of the invention. In the preferred mode of attachment, an insert is fitted to each end of each spring, with a flared insert then placed into a molded female slot upon a flat surface to hold the spring in place. Thus, a floor or wall surface may comprise a series of female slots such that multiple springs can easily slide therein. The springs may be spread throughout the area to be protected, providing a completely controlled protected area to help effectively absorb and dissipate forces upon impact. As such, the assembly of the present invention may be utilized for items such as crash mats for many sports, wall mats in gymnasiums, or wall boards in indoor or outdoor rinks and arenas.

摘要: A method is described for joining the end of a first timber I-beam to the side of a second similar timber I-beam in wherein the end of the web of the first I-beam is fitted between the two side cheeks of a rigid channel member which is secured to the web by means of through fastenings such as bolts. The bridging section of the channel member has at least one stud protruding therefrom in line with the web of the I-beam to which it is secured, for securing to the web of the second transverse I-beam. A hole is formed in the web of the second I-beam through which the or each stud can pass, and the two beams are joined by fitting a closure member to the protruding end of the stud. The stud may be smooth and the closure member in the form of a push-fit washer, or may have a series of annular ridges over which the closure can be forced until it is trapped between the web and one of the ridges or more preferably the stud is threaded and the closure is a nut, typically a so-called lock nut. An alternative design of joining member comprises two parallel spaced apart plates having re-entrant bends which are welded or otherwise secured back to back so as to join the two plates into an integral unit, and beyond the re-entrant regions the plates are bent outwardly to form two aligned flanges for abutting the web of the second I-beam, and for securing thereto. In this design the re-entrant regions bridge the gap between the web of the second I-beam and the end of the web of the first, so that it is unnecessary to cut back the flanges of the first I-beam to achieve a snug fit.

摘要: The invention correspond to a elongated member (1) made of metal, or another suitable material, with appropriate structural features for construction, and a structural slab (6) which uses said elongated members, which is able to more than satisfy the structural requirements and isolation requirements of the related project, and requires a significantly fewer number of auxiliary supporting elements during the construction, which involves low purchase costs of the different related components, transportation and installation in situ. The cross section of said elongated member (1) is hollow and opened on top and its outline is similar to an upside-down nullTnull. Said structural slab (6) is fabricated with a horizontal array of said elongated members (1), a plurality of blocks of isolating material (7) arranged between the same, a mesh (8) made of metal, or another suitable material, arranged on the same and a concrete element (9) working as a composed structural system in combination with the other elements of the structural slab (6).

The flooring system is more aesthetic than conventional frames as the usr of a load transferring means allows the first and second layers of glass to be brought closer together and hence the structural frame supporting the system is less visible through the system.
