Abstract:
A support roll assembly adapted to be rotatably journalled between spaced frame members comprising an elongated hollow support roll, and support pins mounted in opposite axial ends of said roll, at least one of said support pins being supported in a ball bearing consisting of an outer ring having a generally cylindrical outer race and terminating in a radially inwardly facing thrust shoulder, an inner member having a groove-shaped inner race and formed integrally with the support pin and a plurality of balls arranged in the annular space between the inner and outer races and elastic means in the form of a sealing plug adapted to be mounted in the thrust shoulder of the outer ring and including an axially inwardly yielding elastic wall confronting the inner axial end face of the inner member and fastening means in the form of a fastening screw member engaging in the threaded bore section of the inner member to secure the inner member and support pin to the frame and being of a predetermined configuration so that the inner end of the fastening screw is engageable with the inside front face of the said sealing plug.
Abstract:
Rollers are provided for roller conveyors. The roller comprises a sleeve body receiving roller bearings in the ends thereof, the bearings receiving a spindle. One race of each bearing supports the sleeve body, whilst the other has a bore engaged by the spindle. The engagement between the said bore and spindle is by means of a flexible seal so that the bearing can slide relative to the spindle in an axial direction, but the seal prevents flow of water along the spindle. There may be a single spindle extending through both bearings of each roller, or there may be two stub axles, one for each bearing. The races of the bearings are preferably of plastics material.
Abstract:
A triple seal and spacer means within a multi-part seal housing, including a sealed bearing unit which supports and protects the end of a driven shaft extending outside one peripheral end wall of a container through which the driven shaft passes. Suitable lubrication fittings are provided, and lubricant is forced through these fittings into the interior of the multipart seal housing, past two relatively soft seals having a spacer therebetween, and past another spacer and a relatively rigid long-lasting seal adjacent the wall through which the driven shaft passes.
Abstract:
An antifriction bearing in an annular gap between respective coaxial faces of a rotating body and a stationary body is sealed in an axial direction against loss of lubricant and contamination by foreign matter by means of a seal mainly constitutued by two sealing rings. The first ring, fastened to the rotating body has a frustoconical face portion obliquely directed toward the axis, a second substantially cylindrical face portion axially coextensive with the first face portion and of smaller diameter than the smaller base of the first face portion. It is directed radially outward and is connected with the smaller base of the first face portion by a third, substantially radial face portion. The second sealing ring has a frustoconical face closely adjacent the first face portion and bounds therewith a narrow passage extending obliquely from an inner orifice near the aforementioned smaller base to an outer orifice adjacent the larger base of the first face portion. The two sealing rings are fastened to the two bodies so that they rotate relative to each other during operation of the bearing.
Abstract:
An industrial mower sealed roller bearing system provides a roller bearing to avoid repeated and frequent repacking. The system includes an industrial mower having a roller mount and a ground roller. The ground roller bearing includes an insert body having a first end, a closed second end, and a channel extending into the first end towards the second end. An outer section of a shaft extends from the insert body and is couplable to the roller mount. A face seal is provided at the first end of the insert body to define a sealed interior chamber. The face seal is positioned relative to the insert body and the shaft such that the insert body is rotatable relative to the shaft. Each of a plurality of interior bearings is positioned within the sealed interior chamber of the insert body such that the insert body is rotatable relative to the shaft.
