    摘要： A process which inhibits the loss of wood substance, tall oil and chip brightness in wood chips during storage. The process involves treating wood chips with a dilute aqueous solution of formaldehyde and a phenol. This treatment effectively prevents the evolution of heat from the chips and microbial growth and thus limits chip deterioration and brightness loss while preserving tall oil. The process is also effective in preserving other moist plant-derived raw materials.
