摘要： A foldable wheelchair ramp is disclosed having a mountable base, a first ramp section and a second ramp section. In an extended configuration, the first and second ramp sections form a single, continuous ramp for facilitating wheelchair access to vehicles. For convenient storage, the first and second ramp sections fold with respect to each other and preferably retract into the vehicle floor such that, in the folded configuration, the top surface of the second ramp section lies substantially in the same plane as the vehicle floor. A linking assembly is provided to facilitate and control the folding of the ramp sections. For safety purposes, the ramp also includes a lid that covers the gaps between the ramp and the vehicle floor when the ramp is in an extended position.

摘要： A wheelchair lift is attached to the frame underneath an automobile and includes a horizontal platform carried on a pair of parallel arms defining a platform support which is slidably received in a low profile hollow housing or container. The housing defines two end rails at right angles to the vehicle length on which the arms slide so that the arms can be moved to a cantilever position projecting from one side of the vehicle. The platform is mounted on each arm of the platform support by a pair of parallel levers for movement upwardly and downwardly from a lowered mounting position of the platform in which the wheelchair can enter onto the platform to a raised entry position in which the wheelchair can move from the platform onto the floor of the automobile. The levers are actuated by cylinders lying along the arms so that the whole of the platform and its support can be received into the housing for transport with the vehicle.

摘要： A public transit vehicle has a passenger entrance ramp at a door way including a support frame for mounting on the vehicle at the doorway carrying a primary ramp panel, a secondary ramp panel and a fixed platform panel. The primary panel is pivotal through 180 degrees between a retracted position inverted within the vehicle and covering the secondary panel and the fixed platform panel and a deployed position in which the primary ramp panel is inclined from an inner edge downwardly and outwardly from the vehicle to an outer edge at the ground. The primary panel is pivoted at its inner edge on an outer edge of the secondary ramp panel pivotal which is in turn pivotal about an inner horizontal axis at its inner edge. The primary and secondary ramp panels are thus arranged such that, in the retracted position, the outer edge of the secondary panel is in the raised position so that both the primary and secondary ramp panels are substantially horizontal and, in the deployed position, the outer edge is moved to the lowered position so that the primary and secondary ramp panels form a common ramp surface inclined outwardly and downwardly from the inner edge of the secondary ramp panel to the outer edge of the primary ramp panel.

A ramp assembly is supported by the floor deck assembly and may be deployed to accommodate a guest in a wheelchair. To promote safety, the ramp and vehicle door preferably have automatic latch mechanisms. Also for safety purposes, if the vehicle door is not completely pushed back or closed in the locked position, an override switch connected to the door release mechanism, prevents the ride from running. To maintain the ride capacity at all times, a companion seat is built into the vehicle body and a conversion seat can be deployed if no guest in a wheelchair is being accommodated.

摘要： A flip-over ramp assembly is normally stowed in a horizontal position in a recess in a vehicle floor, and can be pivoted upward and outwards to a downward sloping deployed position, after the vehicle door has been opened. The flip-over ramp assembly comprises a mounting enclosure and a ramp which are pivotably connected at their adjacent edges by a hinge which provides a horizontal axis for movement of the ramp between deployed and stowed positions. A driving mechanism comprises an actuator and a driving shaft which is rotatably connected to the actuator. A pair of linkage assemblies are connected to the driving shaft, where the actuator drives the driving shaft which in turn moves the linkage assemblies to lift the ramp to the stowed or deployed position. A positioning cam rotates with the driving shaft for indicating the position of the ramp. A pair of sensors are used with the positioning cam for sensing the position of the ramp, where the sensors transmit a signal to a controller to cut off power to the actuator when the ramp has raised past its vertical position, thereby allowing the ramp to gravity down to the stowed or deployed position.

摘要： The disclosure comprises a tray mountable under the floor of a vehicle, which tray contains an extendible ramp mechanism. This mechanism comprises a ramp and a driving panel for the ramp. The ramp is fulcrummed intermediate its ends on the outer ends of parallel arms extending from the driving panel. Also in the tray, as part of the driving mechanism, are a pair of parallel toothed belts driven by a reversible rotating motor, which belts are attached to the driving panel for extending and retracting the ramp from the tray. Mounted under the driving panel is a reciprocating motor connected by a crank arm to a shaft having additional crank arms pivotally connected to the underside of the ramp adjacent the driving panel. When the ramp is fully extended, the reciprocating motor tilts the ramp so that its inner end is moved upwardly to be flush with the floor of the vehicle. Simultaneously, the outer end of the ramp contacts the ground. The ramp has parallel side barriers which spring into position when the ramp is fully extended. These barriers are automatically folded against the top surface of the ramp by an angularly-mounted roller which contacts a cammed surface at the inner ends of each barrier as the ramp is retracted into the tray.

摘要： A mechanism is provided for deploying a wheelchair ramp at the door of a vehicle, especially a bus, the ramp being of the kind which rotates between a stowed position at which it is flush with the vehicle floor and a deployed position in which it slopes downwardly and outwardly from the vehicle. The mechanism provides a "float down" feature which permits the ramp to move downward under gravity without the need for operator control and prevents crushing of obstacles that get in the downward path of the ramp. The mechanism includes a transmission for translating a single hydraulic cylinder stroke into more than 180.degree. of rotation of the ramp.
