    Abstract: A cryoprobe clamp for creating a lesion in a target tissue comprises a housing portion, a handle extending from the housing portion, a clamp assembly including a distal blade and a proximal blade structured for clamping a target tissue therebetween, a trigger mechanism positioned adjacent the handle and operably coupled to the clamp assembly, and an ablation tool extending between the housing portion and the clamp assembly. The distal blade includes receiving means structured to receive a distal portion of the ablation tool, and the proximal blade includes an outer frame surrounding an open window portion. Upon clamping the target tissue between the distal and proximal blades, a lesion formed by the distal end of the ablation tool is visible through the window portion of the proximal blade.

    Abstract: An attachable clamp for use with a surgical instrument is disclosed. The attachable clamp comprises a body portion, a first jaw member, a second jaw member and an actuation mechanism. The body portion defines a longitudinal axis and has attachment members configured to attach to an elongate portion of a surgical instrument. Each of the first jaw member and second jaw member extends distally from the body portion. The actuation mechanism is disposed in mechanical cooperation with at least one of the first jaw member and the second jaw member. Actuation of the actuation mechanism moves at least one of the first and second jaw members between an approximated position and an open position with respect to the other jaw member.

In preferred embodiments, a clamp has a set of jaws, the distal ends of which terminate in a partial or completely circular structure that is essentially a split ring.     Abstract: The present invention relates to medicine, in particular, to clamps used in vascular surgery for occlusion of blood vessels during a surgical operation, such as vascular clamps used in aortic aneurysm repair. The claimed supplementary vascular clamp comprises a pair of pivoting arms, each of them having a proximal end and a distal handle end. Each pivoting arm contains clamping jaws rigidly attached to a respective proximal end of this arm and shaped as a concave semi-cylindrical or semi-oval cavity. The clamping jaws are movable between the open position and closed position and define a through cylindrical or oval cavity in their closed position. The clamping jaws of the vascular clamp are also provided with a tightening means to provide intra-aortal bending of the ends of staples of an open approach stapler. The tightening means is shaped as plates or a strip of resilient material. The strip may be provided with a tensioning device. The vascular clamp may be also provided with a compensating means for correcting non-uniformity in the thickness of aorta walls. The vascular clamp may be further provided with a compensating means for correction of irregularity in wall thickness of the aorta, a first and a second sealing means for providing secure enclosure of aorta walls, as well as a means for providing regular ejection of staples.

    Abstract: A surgical clamp includes opposing jaws and a covering enhancing traction between the jaws and a body conduit. A multiplicity of fibers oriented to extend longitudinally between the clamp and conduit may be composed of filaments and either woven or non-woven to form a fabric. A variety of weaves are contemplated to provide different textures, each having its own traction characteristics. The nature of the weave can control characteristics such as smoothness, absorption, and texture. The fibers or filaments may be formed from any solid or semi-solid material, adding its own characteristics to the resulting fabric insert or clamp.
