    摘要: A tree stand comprising a supporting base, a positioning sphere, and a compression collar. The supporting base is comprised of an annular cavity surrounding upwardly facing hemispherical socket. The annular cavity comprises an outer side wall including an upper threaded portion. The positioning sphere includes an outer spherical surface and a cavity for receiving a trunk of the tree. The compression collar comprised an outer threaded wall engageable with the upper threaded portion of the supporting base, and a first flange contactable with an upper portion of the outer spherical surface of the positioning sphere. When the positioning sphere is disposed in the hemispherical socket, and the compression collar is maximally threadably engaged with the supporting base, the flange of the compression collar is contacted with the outer spherical surface of the positioning sphere and immobilizes the sphere in the socket, thereby securing the tree in a desired upright position.

    摘要: An electrosurgical method and device for simultaneously cutting and coagulating tissue with an electrosurgical device having an electrode and a channel wherein said channel has a port near a proximal end of said electrode, wherein the method comprises the steps of causing an inert gas to flow through said channel and exit said port, applying high-frequency energy to said electrode while said inert gas flows through said channel, wherein said high-frequency energy applied to said electrode continuously plasmatizes inert gas exiting said port, initiating an electrical discharge from said electrode through said continuously plasmatized inert gas to said tissue, cutting tissue with said electrode, maintaining said electrical discharge from said electrode through said plasmatized inert gas while cutting tissue with said electrode to cause coagulation of said tissue simultaneously with said cutting.

    摘要: A method for authenticating an electrosurgical system accessory comprising initiating a surgical procedure through a user interface on an electrosurgical generator, automatically determining whether an electrosurgical accessory is plugged into a generator receptacle, activating an RFID reader connected to the generator in response to a determination that an accessory is plugged into a receptacle, transmitting through the RFID reader to an RFID tag in the accessory a privacy password, transmitting a unit identification code from the RFID tag to the generator, displaying a device type associated with the transmitted unit identification code, checking a status of the accessory, unlocking a tag memory management if the read status code indicates the accessory has not previously been used, reading encoded data from the tag memory, computing a device authentication code from tag memory encoded data, transmitting the computed authentication code to the tag, and enabling the accessory in response to a match.
