A data broadcasting file based on HTML5 is transported in an MMT method. In a data content management table, information of a list of broadcasting transport files and a central file constituting a presentation unit, and a list of files to be pre-cached is described for each data broadcasting presentation unit. When a list of broadcasting files constituting a data broadcasting presentation unit to be referred to next after a current data broadcasting presentation unit is designated as a pre-cache target, a receiver side can pre-cache file data necessary for a data broadcasting presentation unit to be transitioned to next, and a timely data broadcasting service interoperating with a broadcast program can be realized.

Disclosed herein is a reception apparatus for receiving transmitted AV (Audio/Video) content, including: an extractor configured to extract trigger information associated with control of an application program to be executed in conjugation with the AV content; and a controller configured, in response to a command indicated by the extracted trigger information, to control execution of the application program and, if a video of the AV content is switched, execute any one of continuation and termination of the application program that is active.

The present technique relates to a receiving device, a receiving method, a transmitting device, and a transmitting method that can satisfactorily operate an application which is executed in conjunction with AV content.A receiving device is provided which includes: a trigger information acquiring unit that acquires trigger information including at least location information as information for controlling an operation of an application which is executed in conjunction with AV content; a metadata acquiring unit that acquires application control information for controlling the operation of the application; and an application control unit that controls the operation of the application based on the trigger information and the application control information. The present technique can be applied to, for example, a TV receiver.

Enable appropriate caching of application programs executed in coordination with AV content. The cache memory temporarily stores a coordinated application that is executed in coordination with received AV content. When a plurality of coordinated applications are stored in the cache memory, a control block controls the cache memory according to the priority of the coordinated applications which corresponds to a predetermined frequency specified for each of them in advance. The present technology is applicable to, for example, television receivers that receive digital television broadcast signals.

The reception apparatus receives content, acquires resource delivery information regarding delivery of one or a plurality of resource files that are part of an application associated with the content, the resource delivery information transmitted along with the content, and executes a process according to the delivery of the resource files on a basis of the acquired resource delivery information. The present technique can be applied to, for example, a television receiver that can receive digital broadcasting.

Provided is an image display control apparatus including a data processing unit that controls image signals to be output to a display unit, the data processing unit being configured to execute a display control application supporting a content to be displayed on the display unit to generate output image signals. The data processing unit inputs sensor detection signals from a sensor that acquires environmental light information in a periphery of the display unit, and applies the sensor detection signals and generates output image signals by carrying out signal conversion processing in which different signal conversion algorithms are applied to original input image signals of the content in a content unit, a unit of scenes configuring a content, or a frame unit.

Provided are an apparatus and a method that are capable of performing reliable display control with no caption display interruption of the TTML caption data. Specifically, when a set value of the caption display end time specification attribute of the TTML caption data is the continuous display instruction value, memory storing and display processing of caption data currently displayed are continued even after reproduction end timing of an image file, and switching processing of TTML caption data files is performed. When a set value of the caption display start time specification attribute of the TTML caption data is the continuous display instruction value, whether or not there is a text string, display processing of the text string is continued, is determined, and when there is the text string, the displayed text is continuously displayed. With the processing, it is possible to achieve display control with no caption display interruption of the TTML caption data.

A reception apparatus and a reception method, by which a file is received in an MMT system. On a transmission side, a resource constituting an application, information mapping a URL, which indicates a location in an application, on a location on an MMT transmission path of broadcasting or the like, and information indicating a unit of display and a link relationship in the application are transmitted. On a receiver side, access ranges to hierarchical file data when a data broadcasting application is executed, and location information and size of the file data in each access range are acquired, and the application is effectively pre-cached.
