A method and apparatus generate and utilize a shortcut object providing direct access to the content view of the content items stored in a cloud server for sharing. A shortcut object generation method of a terminal served by a cloud server includes receiving a first information related to a first content view screen presenting objects representing content stored in a cloud server; displaying the first content view screen based on the first information; detecting an input signal requesting generation of a shortcut object on the first content view screen; extracting a second information related to the shortcut object from the first information; and generating the shortcut object for providing access to a second content view screen based on the second information, with the shortcut object including an access address to request the second content view screen.

Provided a method and a system for supporting a cloud service capable of providing a user environment specified in the cloud service, and a terminal for supporting the same. The system for supporting a cloud service includes: a cloud service device allowing a plurality of users to upload or download contents to or from at least one sharing box, or to generate memo contents; and a terminal outputting a content viewing menu displaying the contents according to types and characteristics of the contents so that the terminals users can manipulate and share the contents stored in the cloud service device.

The terminal includes a sensing unit which detects a user gesture moving an object in a certain direction within proximity the terminal, a control unit which determines at least one of movement direction, movement speed, and movement distance of the user gesture and performs a control operation associated with a currently running application according to the determined at least one of movement direction, movement speed, and movement distance of the user gesture, and a display unit which displays an execution screen of the application under the control of the control unit.

A method and apparatus are provided for conveniently managing messages that are received from or sent to external devices through a network by a mobile device. At least one message is displayed and selected by a user for a further operation. Attribute information of the selected message is checked in a message history database. Based on the checked attribute information, a message related to the selected message is displayed. The selected message may be a previously marked message and the related message may be an unmarked message.

The control unit may be configured to determine a selected critical dimension to be measured from a structure in the sample based on measurement parameters.
