    Abstract: Methods and systems for reducing eye strain for multiple users are described herein. The method includes calculating, for each viewer, a metric representing a degree of eye strain of the viewer based on eye activity of the first viewer. The method further involves determining whether each metric is within a range indicating an acceptable degree of eye strain for each viewer. If a metric is not within the range indicating an acceptable degree of eye strain, then, for each viewer, a subset of display settings that is known to cause the metric to be within the viewer's range is identified. The method further involves identifying an additional subset of display settings, where the additional subset is made up of display settings that are also in each viewer's subset. A display setting is selected from this additional subset, and the display is generated according to the selected display setting.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a set of custom keywords based on a media asset. The systems and methods may receive a media asset viewed by a user, receive a set of base keywords, and determine a character in the media asset. Further, the systems and methods may determine a set of custom keywords based on dialog in the media asset corresponding to the character and determine for a custom keyword, from the set of custom keywords, an equivalent base keyword from the set of base keywords. The systems and methods may determine a response to a received user request, wherein the response includes the base keyword from the set of base keywords, and generate a modified response to the user request based on the response to the user request, wherein the modified response replaces the base keyword with the custom keyword.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for determining an intended user selection of a search result. For example, a system may display a first set of search results, including a first search result, and thereafter replace display of the first set of search results with a second set of search results, including a second search result. The system may receive selection of the second search result. If the selection of the second search result was received shortly after display of the second set of search results replaced the first set of search results, the system may update the selection from the second search result to the first search result. For example, if selection of the second search result occurred shortly after display of the second search result replaced the first search result, the system may determine that the user intended to select the first search result but inadvertently selected the second search result.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for responding to a voice command at a volume level based on a volume level of the voice command. For example, a media guidance application may detect, through a first voice-operated user device of a plurality of voice-operated user devices, a voice command spoken by a user. The media guidance application may determine a first volume level of the voice command. Based on the volume level of the voice command, the media guidance application may determine that a second voice-operated user device of the plurality of voice-operated user devices is closer to the user than any of the other voice-operated user devices. The media guidance application may generate an audible response, through the second voice-operated user device, at a second volume level that is set based on the first volume level of the voice command.

The request may, for example, be captured using a microphone of an electronic device and transmitted to a server device. The specified content items may be mapped to a story template. Based on the story template, other content items related to the specified content items may be retrieved from one or more content sources. The content sources may, for example, refer to websites, social media platforms, search engine results, or other data stores.     Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for inserting supplemental content into a QAM signal. A unicast QAM signal between a server and a client device for delivery of content is established. The QAM signal has a particular frequency corresponding to the channel on which it will be transmitted to the client device. A request or other signal may be received from the client device requesting that supplemental content be inserted into the QAM signal. A portion of the bandwidth of the QAM signal is allocated for the supplemental content. The supplemental content is transcoded into a supplemental QAM signal in the particular frequency. The supplemental content may be packetized content such as internet protocol-based content and may be retrieved from a server or database. The supplemental QAM signal is then inserted into the unicast QAM signal using the allocated portion of the bandwidth.
