    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to selection and use of peak reduction tones (PRTs) including obtaining a predetermined sequence of PRTs corresponding to a set of granted resources including a plurality of tones, mapping a set of data to a first subset of the plurality of tones outside of the predetermined sequence of PRTs and mapping a set of PRTs to a second subset of the plurality of tones within the predetermined sequence of PRTs. At least one peak of a time domain representation of the first subset of the plurality of tones is canceled using a time domain representation of the second subset of the plurality of tones. A transmitted waveform comprising the first subset of the plurality of tones and the second subset of the plurality of tones is transmitted.

    Abstract: A transmitting device communicates with a receiving device an indication to apply PAPR reduction for a data transmission. The transmitting device applies a first PAPR reduction signal and a second PAPR reduction signal to the data transmission to reduce at least one signal peak of the data transmission to yield a transmission signal, where the first PAPR reduction signal includes a first set of PRTs that does not overlap with data tones and the second PAPR reduction includes a second set of PRTs that overlaps with the data tones and does not overlap with reserved tones. The transmitting device transmits the transmission signal to the receiving device.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a base station may identify a null space matrix that lies within a null space of an effective channel matrix for communications between the base station and a user equipment (UE). An indication of the null space matrix may be provided to the UE, and the null space matrix used to determine modifications to a precoding matrix. The base station and UE may determine a redistribution matrix that provides a reduced variance of transmission powers for a number of transmission channels, where a product of the null space matrix and the redistribution matrix may be computed and added to the precoding matrix to generate a modified precoding matrix. The modified precoding matrix may be used to generate the communications from the base station and UE with reduced power variance across channels.

    Abstract: A user equipment for wireless communications includes a memory configured to store a peak reduction tone (PRT) table and a processor configured to retrieve a plurality of PRT sequences from the PRT table. The plurality of PRT sequences includes a first PRT sequence based upon a first data rate and a second PRT sequence based upon a second data rate. The second data rate is larger than the first data rate, and the second PRT sequence is a subset of the first PRT sequence. The user equipment also includes a power amplifier operable to transmit data with the first PRT sequence according to the first data rate or with the second PRT sequence according to the second data rate.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling from a base station that includes an indication of a configuration for measuring cross-link interference (CLI) and an indication of a reference subcarrier spacing (SCS). The configuration may be associated with a slot having more than 14 symbols and may indicate a resource allocation that includes a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource, a CLI resource, or both. The UE may use the SRS resource to measure an SRS and may use the CLI resource to measure a received signal strength indicator (RSSI). The UE may measure the SRS and the RSSI according to the reference SCS. The UE may determine a CLI level based on measuring the SRS, the RSSI, or both. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a report including an indication of the determined CLI level.

    Abstract: Peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction with respect to signals of component carriers of a carrier aggregation configuration may be provided using preconfigured or fixed PRT location sequences (e.g., fixing the number and location of PRTs). A device transmitting signals of component carriers of a carrier aggregation configuration may perform PRT magnitude and phase optimization processing with respect to PRTs of a PRT location sequence using techniques, such as may use a signal to clipping noise ratio, tone reservation (SCR-TR) algorithm. Various PRT location sequence configurations, such as PRT sideband location sequence configurations, PRT inband location sequence configurations, etc., may be selected to facilitate reduction of PAPR associated with the data tones of one or more carrier aggregation component carriers, such as to satisfy a PAPR threshold. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method includes a reconfigurable intelligent surface receiving, from a network entity, a synchronization signal block associated with a synchronization signal block index, reflecting the synchronization signal block as a set of multiple instances of the synchronization signal block via a corresponding set of multiple downlink transmit beams, receiving a random access message from a user equipment (UE) during a random access occasion that corresponds with the synchronization signal block index and on an uplink receive beam that corresponds with one of the set of multiple downlink transmit beams, identifying the phase-change pattern of multiple phase-change patterns that corresponds to the uplink receive beam, and reflecting the random access message to the network entity by applying the phase-change pattern to antenna elements of the reconfigurable intelligent surface that reflect the random access message to the network entity.
