    Abstract: A method synchronizes autofocus in a system having a master camera and a slave camera. The method comprises: focusing the slave camera based on a map and a result of an autofocus operation by the master camera, while capturing each of a plurality of images. The map relates a plurality of master camera lens positions of the master camera to corresponding slave camera lens positions of the slave camera. An autofocus operation is periodically performed in the slave camera to determine an additional slave camera lens position for an additional image. The map is adaptively updated, based at least partially on the additional slave camera lens position.

    Abstract: A method for image capture control may include computing an electronic image stabilization (EIS) compensation based on image data from an image capture device, the image data having a first region of interest (ROI). A jitter or panning shift is computed based on the EIS compensation. The first ROI is adjusted for use in at least one of the group consisting of an automatic white balance process and an automatic exposure process of the image capture device based on the jitter or panning shift.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for calibration of hybrid auto focus (AF) imaging systems are disclosed. In one aspect, a method is operable by an imaging device including a hybrid auto focus (AF) system comprising a lens. The method may include capturing an image of a scene, determining that the image of the scene is out of focus, and estimating, via a first AF process of the hybrid AF system, an initial lens position at which the image is in focus in response to determining that the image is out of focus; moving the lens to the initial lens position. The method may also include determining, via a second AF process of the hybrid AF system, a final lens position in response to the movement of the lens to the initial lens position and calibrating the first AF processes based on the determined final lens position.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for hybrid depth map processing. An example device may include a first sensor having a plurality of focus pixels, the focus pixels configured to capture images from at least a first perspective and a second perspective, where a difference between the first and second perspectives is associated with a first direction. The device may further include a second image sensor separated from the first image sensor in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The device may be configured to receive a first image from the first image sensor, where the first image includes first image data captured from the first perspective, and second image data captured from the second perspective. The device may be further configured to receive a second image from the second image sensor, and to generate a hybrid depth map based at least in part on the first image and the second image.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for calibration of phase detection auto focus (PDAF) camera systems are disclosed. In one aspect, the method involves capturing a first image of a scene at an initial lens position, the first image including a first left image and a first right image captured using left and right photodiodes. The method may also involve calculating an initial phase difference between the first left image and first right image and estimating an in-focus lens position based on the initial phase difference. The method may further involve moving the lens to a final lens position at which a final phase difference between a second left image and a second right image of a second image captured at the final lens position is substantially zero and calibrating the estimation of the in-focus lens position based on the initial lens position, the final lens position, and the initial phase difference.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for focus hunting prevention for phase detection auto focus (AF) are disclosed. In one aspect, the method is operable by an imaging device, for preventing focus hunting during a phase detection AF process. The method may include capturing an image of a scene and generating a phase difference value and a confidence level for the phase difference value based on the image. The method may also include calculating a focus hunting metric based at least in part on the phase difference value and the confidence level. The method may further include preventing focus hunting via at least one of preventing the start of the focus search and terminating the focus search, in response to the focus hunting metric meeting or exceeding a defined threshold value.
