    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for indicating and determining whether one or more of multiple uplink transmissions scheduled by a common downlink control information (DCI) are based on a channel occupancy time (COT) initiated by the UE, a COT initiated by the network entity, or a combination of COTs initiated by the UE and network entity. The determination may be based on a direct indication in the DCI for one or more of the multiple uplink transmissions. The determination may also be based on determining the type of COT for the remaining uplink transmissions not directly indicated by the DCI. For example, the DCI may indicate a COT type for only a first one of the multiple uplink transmissions and the UE determines a COT type for the remaining uplink transmissions based on various conditions and criteria.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with multiple transmit receive points (TRPs) in a frame based equipment mode.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may determine an energy pattern corresponding to a characteristic of the first wireless device. The energy pattern may include at least two sub-periods of different energy levels. The first wireless device may transmit the energy pattern on a channel (e.g., an unlicensed channel) prior to transmitting a first message on the channel to indicate the upcoming message to other devices. A second wireless device may monitor the channel during energy detection intervals and may detect the energy pattern. The second wireless device may determine the characteristic of the first wireless device based on detecting the energy pattern and may modify timing for transmission of a second message on the channel based on determining the characteristic. The first wireless device may transmit the first message on the channel based on transmitting the energy pattern.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication associated with performing listen-before-talk relative to a channel occupancy time (COT). Accordingly, the UE may transmit, to the base station, an uplink communication, where the uplink communication is transmitted using a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure based at least in part on the indication. For example, the LBT procedure may be selected from a category 1 (Cat1) LBT procedure, a category 2 (Cat2) LBT procedure, or a category 3 (Cat3) LBT procedure based at least in part on the indication (e.g., included in a radio resource control message).
