    Abstract: The present invention provides a projected capacitive type input device that easily achieves a high resolution and a large size. The input device is provided in a display device that updates a display by sequentially applying a scanning signal to a plurality of scanning signal lines during one frame period. The input device includes a plurality of driving electrodes and a plurality of detection electrodes that are arranged so as to cross each other. The detection electrodes are arranged parallel to the scanning signal lines. A touch position is detected by applying a driving signal to the driving electrodes and detecting a detection signal output from each of the detection electrodes during a touch detection period.

    Abstract: An input device which is a capacitive coupling type and can reduce visibility of wiring patterns of electrodes and interference fringes is provided. The input device is included in a display device including a plurality of pixels, and is configured to detect a contact position of a user. The input device includes a plurality of first electrodes, a plurality of second electrodes disposed so as to cross the first electrodes, and a plurality of third electrodes disposed between the second electrodes. Slits extending obliquely with respect to an extension direction of the second electrodes are formed between the third electrodes.

    Abstract: An object of the present technology is to provide a display device that includes an input device capable of easily being incorporated into the display device as a capacitance coupling type input device. The display device includes: a display panel having a plurality of pixel electrodes 19 and updating a display by sequentially applying a scanning signal to a TFT that controls application of a voltage to the pixel electrodes 19; and an input device having one of electrodes arranged in the periphery of the pixel electrode 19 of the display panel and the other electrode arranged so as to cross the one of electrodes, wherein a capacitive element is formed between the one of electrodes and the other electrode. The one of electrodes arranged in the periphery of the pixel electrode 19 is composed of a lower layer portion 27a made of a metallic material, and an upper layer portion 27b covering the lower layer portion 27a and made of the same material as the pixel electrode 19.
