Abstract:
A system controlled responsive to data bearing records includes a card reader that is operative to read card data from user cards including financial account data, and causes operation of an automated banking machine to carry out financial transactions responsive to the account data. The automated banking machine is operative to access at least one network. The automated banking machine is operative to enable a user thereof to make payments for purchases of goods or services to be delivered remote from the machine and to receive from the user a cash payment for the purchases through a cash acceptor. The automated banking machine includes a printer that provides receipts for transactions conducted through the machine.
Abstract:
A card actuated automated banking machine (152, 198, 200) includes a plurality of transaction function devices. The transaction function devices include a card reader (170), a printer (174), a bill dispenser (176), a coin dispenser (178), a display (182), a check imaging device (186), and at least one processor (190). The machine is operative responsive to receiving a check and certification data to dispense cash in exchange for the check. The person presenting the check need not provide user identifying inputs through input devices in order to receive cash for the check. A check recipient prior to presenting the check for payment is also enabled to verify that the check will be paid through communication with at least one computer (204) through at least one consumer interface device (208).
Abstract:
An automated banking machine system operates to cause financial transfers responsive to data read from data bearing records. The system is operative to read a financial card bearing account indicia with a card reader. A user is enabled to perform at least one banking operation responsive to account indicia read from the card. Such banking operations may include dispensing cash and accessing financial accounts. While a user operates the system to dispense cash or perform other banking operations, the system may further permit at least one portable wireless device to wirelessly access the system to conduct transactions.
Abstract:
Automated transaction machines operate responsive to data read from data bearing records to carry out financial transfers, which can include the dispense of currency notes and the conduct of transactions. In some cases a user is enabled to dispense merchandise from a self-service dispensing machine and is also enabled to selectively receive cash value by charging the amount of such value to a source of monetary value associated with data read from a machine readable article such as a card (80, 82). Alternatively, a user may receive cash value by presenting a printed voucher or other item to a service provider located at a facility (14) at which the service provider exchanges the voucher or other item for cash. Alternatively, cash may be dispensed to the user directly from the self-service dispensing machine. Alternatively the user may pick up merchandise ordered through the machine at a delivery station disposed from the machine.
Abstract:
Method for accessing and servicing banking machine components of an automated banking machine. The automated banking machine includes a processor case rotatably mounted on the machine housing. The processor case houses and supports various circuit cards and processor related components. A movable mounting tray supported on the chest housing, supports various banking machine components which may include a display, a card reader, a receipt printer, and input keys. When the automated banking machine is in an operable condition, the processor case and the mounting tray are housed in an interior area defined by a top housing. To access and service the banking machine components, the movable tray may be extended outwardly from a front opening in the top housing and the processor case may be rotated from an operational position to a service position.
Abstract:
An automatic banking machine includes a card reader for reading user cards, and a cash dispenser. A movable camera is positionable within the ATM housing. The automated banking machine carries out transactions related to user accounts based on information read from cards. Service personnel are enabled to direct the camera toward regions of machine components while conducting service activities that are not directly visible by a servicer. A camera assembly includes a microphone to sense sounds associated with machine components during test operations. The generated data may be used by an on-site servicer, or sent to an entity at a remote location. The visual images may be used to enhance diagnostic and servicing capabilities.
Abstract:
A cash dispensing automated banking machine includes a card reader associated with a card slot. An anti-fraud sensing device is able to sense ambient light or generated radiation that passes to the sensing device through the card reader slot. The installation of an unauthorized card reading device on the machine changes at least one property sensed by the sensing device. A controller in the machine receives signals from the sensing device, and determines if an unauthorized card reading device has been installed.
Abstract:
An automated banking machine has sensing devices adjacent a card reader slot. The sensing devices enable detection of a fraudulent card reading device.
Abstract:
An ATM apparatus includes a sheet storage container selectively positionable within the secure chest portion of the ATM. A monitoring mechanism provides audible feedback when the sheet storage container is moved into an operational position. The sheet storage container can be a free-fall container or a stacking cassette.
