Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved quality of service flow. A method may include receiving an indication at a radio resource control entity or service data adaptation protocol layer entity in a radio protocol of a receiver from a transmitter. The indication can include instructions to relocate a quality of service flow from a source to a target data radio bearer. The method may also include starting a timer associated with the quality of service. In addition, the method may include buffering data packets received as part of the quality of service flow from the target data radio bearer during a duration of the timer. Further, the method may include allowing for the transmission of the buffered data packets of the quality of service flow received from the target data radio bearer to an upper protocol layer after the duration of the timer has lapsed or stopped.

For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from packet data convergence protocol windows, for example in the case of split bearers being in use. A method can include transmitting a plurality of protocol data units over a bearer mapped to a plurality of logical channels. The protocol data units can be transmitted in a radio link control unacknowledged mode. The method can also include managing at least one transmission characteristic of the transmitted plurality of protocol data units.

One method may include receiving, from a network element, a logged measurement configuration comprising specific content for a user equipment depending on a connection state of the user equipment. The method may also include validating the logged measurement configuration, wherein the validating is embodied by the network element prior to transitioning to a different user equipment state, or by a user equipment after entering a logging state, for which the logged measurement configuration was designated. The method may further include performing logging of a measurement according to the content of the logged measurement configuration. In addition, the method may include tagging the logged measurement. The method may also include transmitting the tagged logged measurement to the network element.

Further, performing receiving, at a device of a communication network, an indication through a received signaling indicating that at least one PDCP PDU of a PDCP sublayer is to be duplicated; determining to duplicate the at least one PDCP PDU; duplicating the at least one PDCP PDU based on the determination; and transmitting the duplicated PDCP PDU over at least one logical channel.

In accordance with the example embodiments there is receiving from a first device a communication packets of a first traffic subflow and packets of a second traffic subflow via a first radio bearer; receiving from the first device a packet data unit including an indication that further packets of the second traffic subflow are to be received via a second radio bearer, wherein the first traffic flow continues to be received via the first radio bearer; establishing the second radio bearer between a second device and the first device; and based on the establishing, receiving the further packets of the second traffic flow via the second radio bearer.
