摘要: An embodiment of the present invention proposes to describe an enterprise or company in terms of its structure and represent that structure in performing revenue forecasts for the enterprise or company. Mapping the company structure in a multi-dimensional matrix, for example, can represent that structure. The revenue forecasting method is novel in that forecasts for any level of the enterprise or company make use of data and previous forecasts for that and other elements of the structure. In this way, the method improves upon existing methods by leveraging information contained in some data on other data, and learning the relations between them.

摘要: The present invention is a method and an apparatus for predicting future travel times over a transportation network. In one embodiment, a method for predicting future travel times over a transportation network includes receiving a data point indicating a real-time volume of traffic on the link at a given time and updating a template representative of an observed traffic pattern on the link in accordance with the received data point. A future travel time over the link can then be estimated in accordance with the updated template. Thus, the template is able to adapt to dynamically changing traffic patterns, taking these changing traffic patterns into account when making predictions of future traffic patterns.

摘要: The present invention is a method and an apparatus for estimating real-time travel times or traffic loads (e.g., traffic flows or densities) over a transportation network based on limited real-time data. In one embodiment, a method for estimating a travel time over a transportation network comprising at least a first link and a second link includes receiving a data feed associated with a real-time traffic flow over the first link, estimating a first travel time over the first link based at least in part on the data feed, and estimating a second travel time over the second link, also based at least in part on the data feed. The method assumes that a real-time data feed is not available for the second link, and thus estimates the traffic flow over the second link based on the known traffic flow over the first link and other known data, such as historical traffic patterns and physical parameters of the transportation network.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided to determine an allocation of network resources in a distributed on-demand information technology (IT) systems using existing control mechanisms for other operating system resources in order to achieve a desired operating point within the IT system. This desired operating point is obtained by optimizing a goal-based objective function while taking into account system constraints. The relationship between utilization of all system resources, i.e. network resources and processing resources, and attainment of performance objectives is autonomously obtained for a plurality of actions that could be required by a range of system applications. This relationship is used to allocate network resources to applications while maintaining desired performance objectives. The allocation is enforced using existing control mechanisms.
