Abstract: An incident scene is searchable via a portable communication device and method that provides for displaying a masked augmented reality of the incident scene to the display of the portable communication device. A geofenced area is applied within the displayed masked augmented reality of the incident scene as an indication to the user of an area to be searched. As the geofenced area is searched, masking is removed from the displayed masked augmented reality of the incident scene. The masking is only being removed within the geofenced area based on user attention span provided to the geofenced area. The removal of masking indicates areas that have been searched.

Abstract: An automated personnel identification system. The system includes a portable communications device that stores an identifier, which uniquely identifies the portable communications device, a user of the portable communications device, or both. The system also includes a garment. The garment includes a communications interface, a light source, and an electronic controller electrically coupled to the communications interface and to the light source. The electronic controller is configured to receive the identifier, via the communications interface, from the portable communications device. The electronic controller is further configured to cause the light source to generate a modulated optical output based on the identifier. In some embodiments, the electronic controller is further configured to receive a status indication from the portable communications device via the communications interface, and activate the light source based on the status indication.

Abstract: Techniques for a digital assistant to receive intent input from a secondary user are provided. A digital assistant receives a query intent from a primary user, wherein the primary user is authorized to provide query intents. It is determined, based on the query intent, that intent input will be provided by a secondary user, wherein the secondary user is not authorized to provide query intents. Intent input provided by the secondary user is received. The digital assistant processes the query intent using the intent input. The results of the query intent are provided to the primary user.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided in this disclosure for operating an electronic device. The electronic device includes a user interface, a microphone, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor determines whether a user assistance restriction is established for a current functional operation of the electronic device. The microphone captures an audio stream and the electronic processor analyzing the audio stream to identify spoken words captured by the microphone. The electronic processor detects a violation of the user assistance restriction for the current functional operation of the electronic device based at least in part on a correlation between one or more of the identified spoken words captured by the microphone and a current functional operation of the electronic device. The electronic processor adjusts one or more operations of the electronic device in response to detecting the violation of the user assistance restriction.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing digital image data representing multiple views of an object of interest use a sparse set of digital images along with object of interest profiling to provide a photo gallery for evidence-related workflows. Abstract: A device and method for hierarchical object recognition is provided. The device comprises: an augmented reality display device including a camera, a display device, and an eye-tracking device; an input device; a memory storing a hierarchical object recognition library arranged in a plurality of levels; and a controller. The controller receives, using the input device, an indication of a selected level of the hierarchical object recognition library. The controller determines, using the eye-tracking device, an eye-gaze direction. The controller recognizes at least one object in an image from the camera in the eye-gaze direction by comparing at least a region of the image in the eye-gaze direction with the selected level of the hierarchical object recognition library. The controller controls the display device to indicate a recognized object in the eye-gaze direction.

Abstract: A device, system and method for controlling quality of service of communication devices based on a predicted hazard path is provided. From an initial location of a hazard in a building and an electronic representation of the building, a predicted hazard path through the building is determined, as well as geofences, each associated with a respective weight. Geofences that include the predicted hazard path have a higher weight than geofences that exclude the predicted hazard path. Respective network quality of service for communication devices is controlled based on their locations in the building, relative to the geofences, such that a first communication device located in a first geofence that includes the predicted hazard path receives better network quality of service than a second communication device located in a second geofence that excludes the predicted hazard path, the second geofence having a lower weight than the first geofence.
