摘要： The present invention provides a multi-piece solid golf ball having soft and good shot feel and excellent flight performance when hit by a golfer who swings a golf club at low head speed. The present invention relates to a multi-piece solid golf ball comprising a core, an intermediate layer and a cover having many dimples on the surface thereof, wherein hardness distribution of the core; hardness distribution between each layer and the contiguous layer in the golf ball; a ratio of a thickness of the cover to that of the intermediate layer; a ratio (X/D) of the total periphery length (X) to a diameter of the golf ball; and a ratio (VD/VG) of the total volume of the dimples (VD) to a volume of the phantom sphere (VG) assuming that the golf ball is a true sphere having no dimples on the surface thereof; are adjusted to specified ranges.

摘要： A golf ball 2 includes a center 12, a mid layer 14, a reinforcing layer 6, a cover 8 and a paint layer 10. The golf ball 2 has a large number of dimples 16 on the surface thereof. The cover 8 is formed of a resin composition including thermoplastic polyurethane (A) and a polyisocyanate mixture (B). The polyisocyanate mixture (B) includes a urethane prepolymer (B1) having two or more isocyanate groups or an isocyanate compound (B2) having three or more isocyanate groups. The polyisocyanate composition (B) further includes a thermoplastic resin (B3) which substantially does not react with an isocyanate goup. The golf ball 2 is obtained by a mold having protrusions which projects from the equator of the mold. Each protrusion includes a part of a pimple.

摘要： A golf ball formed of multiple layers that allows limiting an uplifting trajectory, providing a trajectory in which the height of the golf ball is well retained in the latter half of the flight of the ball thereby increasing travel distance, where at least one layer is made of a composition of a ternary copolymer ionomer, a higher fatty acid and an inorganic metal compound mixed together, at least 80% of the carboxyl group contained in the composition is neutralized, and the total volume of the dimples (Dv) on the cover surface ranges from 495 to 575 mm3. The above composition is suitable for the cover. The higher fatty acid is a fatty acid with 12 to 40 carbon atoms, and preferably is stearic acid or oleic acid.

The ratio of the total volume of all the dimples 10 to the surface area of a phantom sphere of the golf ball is less than 75%. The dimples 10 have a curvature radius at the edge thereof in a range of 0.1 mm to 10 mm.

The mid layer 10 includes a styrene block-containing thermoplastic elastomer having a material hardness of less than 10, and an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer-based ionomer resin having a material hardness of 50 or greater and 70 or less. This mid layer 10 has a hardness equal to or less than 50, and a thickness of equal to or less than 1.6 mm. The dimple has: a first side wall face 18 that has a curvature radius R1 which is equal to or greater than a phantom curvature radius Rx; a second side wall face 20 that is positioned to the bottom side than the first side wall 18 face and has a curvature radius R2 which is smaller than the phantom curvature radius Rx; and a bottom face 22 that is positioned to the bottom side than the second side wall face 20 and has a curvature radius R3 which is equal to or greater than the phantom curvature radius Rx.
