    摘要: An embodiment of the invention is a technique for power saving in mobile communication. At least one of a base station (BS) and a mobile station (MS) is initialized for power saving using a downlink (DL) status and an uplink (UL) status associated with the BS and the MS, respectively, during communication between the BS and the MS. A first PSC mode is entered when both the DL and UL statuses indicate a silence period. A second PSC mode is entered when at least one of the DL and UL statuses indicates a talk period.

    摘要: Techniques, systems and methods for concurrent data and signaling for WiMAX handover are disclosed herein. The serving base station may receive a handover request message from a mobile station and transmit a parameter to the mobile station to indicate a time to suspend a first set of one or more service flows between the serving base station and the mobile station during a handover procedure and continue data exchange between the mobile station and the serving base station for a second set of one or more service flows during the handover procedure. The proposed techniques reduce the service suspension time during the handover procedure.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for allocating a data region (termed “sticky region allocation”) in an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) or orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) frame so that a user terminal can receive/send data bursts for multiple OFDM/OFDMA frames, rather than inserting a MAP information element (MAP IE) for each user terminal in every frame, are provided. In this manner, the size of the control overhead, such as the downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) MAP messages, may be reduced. The reduced control overhead may increase the frame resources available for data traffic and thus, may boost the overall efficiency and performance of wireless systems using OFDM/OFDMA.

    摘要: A routing method with routing algorithms applicable to a one-level hierarchical network, including a first algorithm in which a shortest one among all paths established in association with one destination is selected, a second algorithm in which the first method is conducted in a distributed fashion to achieve a fast routing, and a third algorithm in which any one of paths established in association with one destination may be selected as a shortest path when the QoS value calculated in association therewith is more optimum than a required reference QoS value, for preventing problems caused by errors at the single path. The method also provides algorithms that are modified versions of the second and third algorithm for the multi-level hierarchical network. Accordingly, the method is advantageous in that users can select an algorithm, most suitable for the system environment, from the above algorithms.
