    Abstract: A receptacle connector assembly includes an insulative housing defining base with a mating tongue forwardly extending therefrom in a front-to-back direction, a plurality of contacts disposed in the housing with contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue, a metallic shield enclosing the housing to define a capsular mating cavity in which the mating tongue is disposed and a metallic shielding plate embedded within the mating tongue and defining a pair of lateral edge sections. The metallic shield defines an identification protrusion extending into the mating cavity so as to preclude from mating with a standard plug connector, which has a contour compliant with said capsular mating cavity, but with a customized plug connector which also has a contour compliant with said capsular mating cavity and further with a corresponding slot to receive said identification protrusion.

    Abstract: A plug connector for use with a complementary receptacle connector, includes an insulative housing defining a receiving cavity therein and a plurality of passageways on opposite of the mating cavity, a pair of terminal modules stacked on each other and a metallic shell. Each terminal module includes an insulator and a plurality of contacts loaded on insulator, the contacts includes contacting sections extending out of the insulator and tail extending out of the insulator. The insulators of the stacked terminal modules are located behind the insulative housing and the contacting sections of the contacts are disposed in the corresponding passageways. The terminal modules and the insulative housing are commonly enclosed in the metallic shell.

    Abstract: A plug connector includes a connector tab connected to and extending longitudinally away from a rear body, the tab includes opposite first and second major surfaces. A first plurality of contacts is carried by the tab on the first major surface and a second plurality of contacts is carried by the tab on the second major surface. The contacts include differential signal pairs. Each pair of the differential signal pairs is consisting of two individual contacts and said two contacts are located adjacent to each other but at the first and second main surface respectively.

    Abstract: A flappable plug connector and a complementary receptacle connector are provided wherein the plug connector defining a mating tongue, is made with a pair of insert molding housings which are associated with the contacts thereof, commonly sandwiching a paddle card therebetween with a pair of power contacts exposed on two opposite lateral sides to form a sub-assembly. The corresponding receptacle connector defines a receiving cavity to receive the mating tongue of the plug connector. The plug connector defines a V-Bus clip surrounding the mating tongue for power transfer and the receptacle connector includes a pair of deflectable power contacts by two sides of the receiving cavity.
