    Abstract: This disclosure relates to service discovery using a dynamically configurable Bloom filter. According to some embodiments, various parameters of the Bloom filter may be determined by a first wireless device. The parameters may include a number of services advertised using the Bloom filter, a false positive rate of the Bloom filter, a set of hash functions used with the Bloom filter, and/or a size of the Bloom filter. The Bloom filter may be generated according to the determined parameters. The Bloom filter, along with some or all of the parameters of the Bloom filter, may be transmitted by the first wireless device. A second wireless device may use the Bloom filter as part of a service discovery process to determine whether or not a desired service is available via the first wireless device.

    Abstract: One or more wireless stations operate to configure direct communication with neighboring mobile stations, e.g., direct communication between the wireless stations without utilizing an intermediate access point. A wireless station may determine a further availability window schedule for a first time period, including specifying availability for particular channels at particular time slots at a first time slot increment. The wireless station may specify availability at a second time slot increment for a subset of the time slots specified at the first time slot increment. The second time slot increment may be less than the first slot time increment. The wireless station may negotiate, with a neighboring wireless station, a peer-to-peer communication schedule for the peer-to-peer communication application based on the further availability window schedule, including specifying a portion of the peer-to-peer schedule using the second time slot increment.

    Abstract: An electronic device may transmit beacons associated with multiple access points that are cohosted by the electronic device, and that provide concurrent links in different bands of frequencies. The electronic device may include an access-point multi-link device (AP MLD). Moreover, the beacons may include: a basic service set identifier (BSSID) associated with the access points in the AP MLD, a service set identifier (SSID) associated with the access points in the AP MLD, and a MLD media access control (MAC) address associated with the access points in the AP MLD. Furthermore, a given beacon may be associated with a given access point and may include: information specifying a channel of a given link, a reduced neighbor report (RNR) providing information about at least the access points in the AP MLD, and a field that indicates when the given access point is included in the AP MLD.

A wireless station may be configured to perform a method to accelerate discovery of a peer device after an out-of-band triggering event. For example, a wireless device may detect an out-of-band triggering event and activate a wireless interface capable of peer-to-peer communications in response. The wireless device may transmit one or more discovery messages (e.g., discovery beacons, active subscribe messages, and/or unsolicited publish messages) over the wireless interface immediately after activation of the wireless interface to aid in discovery of the peer device. The one or more discovery messages may be transmitted as service discovery frames. The wireless device may perform service discovery over the wireless interface with the peer device post discovery.

Configuration of NAN includes mapping of NAN clusters and multi-hop data routing within a NAN cluster. A wireless device may transmit a subscribe service discovery frame (SDF) to one or more neighboring wireless devices and receive a respective publish SDF from the one or more wireless devices, the respective publish SDF including respective wireless device information. The wireless device may maintain a data structure comprising the respective wireless device information. In some embodiments, the wireless device information may include an address, hop count, and/or service indications, e.g., for data routing and/or service discovery.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus are presented for performing network probing. A user equipment device (UE) may store a record associating traditional service set identifiers (SSIDs) with corresponding Short SSIDs. According to some embodiments, the UE may receive a message including a Short SSID, and determine whether a corresponding full SSID is known to the UE. Based on the determination, a probe request may be generated, addressed to either the Short SSID or the full SSID. After transmitting the probe request, the UE may receive a probe response, which may include a full SSID corresponding to the Short SSID. The UE may store a record associating the full SSID with the Short SSID, if applicable. According to some embodiments, a UE may receive a plurality of messages including respective SSIDs, and may generate a single probe request addressed to the SSIDs. The UE may receive a plurality of probe responses.
