    Abstract: The disclosure relates to method and system for supervising a plurality of users of XR devices. A problem arises in that a supervisor hoping to assist a user in operating in an XR environment cannot easily obtain a representation of the XR environment which a particular user amongst the plurality of users is currently perceiving. The disclosure addresses this problem by having each XR device and a supervisory device independently determine the position of an XR device. Each XR device provides replica stream data in association with its position, and the user of the supervisory device selects an XR device by selecting its position. By tallying the position in the supervisor's selection of an XR device with the position associated with each replica stream, the replica stream of the XR device selected by the supervisor can be provided to the supervisory device.

    Abstract: A collaborative map building method is described in which if it is determined, for example, by a SLAM network edge, that a portion of a map corresponding to a target area of a first region is incomplete, a request to a device is transmitted to move toward the target area. The map is updated based on the scan performed by the device in the target area. Also described is a virtual image guide embodiment in which upon determining that a map of a target area of the first region is incomplete, a virtual guide image is generated on a device to appear at a target location. The user of the device is guided to the target area by the virtual image.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for engaging navigation modes based on traffic events. For example, the disclosed system receives a request for navigating a user device from a start location to a final destination. The user device optionally indicates that turn-by-turn navigational directions are to be provided from an intermediate location to the final destination. The system determines all possible routes the user device can take from the start location to the intermediate location and, in some embodiments, from the intermediate location to the final destination. Once engaged, the system monitors the user device's progress from the start location to the intermediate location without displaying turn-by-turn navigation. During which time, the system notifies the user device of any traffic events that may impact the journey. When prompted, the system provides turn-by-turn navigational directions to bypass the traffic event. Once the user device has successfully bypassed the traffic event, the system resumes monitoring the user device's progress without displaying turn-by-turn navigation. Once the user device reaches a predetermined distance from the intermediate location, the system provides turn-by-turn navigational directions from that location to the final destination.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for establishing a communication path between devices that are virtually proximate in an XR environment. First and second user devices are connected to the same space in a virtual environment (VE). The first user device is externally connected to a media device. Device information about the media device is retrieved, and a virtual device for the media device is generated in the space. The virtual device is selected. A communication path between the first and second user devices is identified based on their respective connections to the same space. A virtual connection is generated based on the identified communication path for providing media content between the media device and the user devices.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for managing bandwidth in a network containing physical displays of electronic devices and virtual displays provided via an extended reality (XR) device are provided. A plurality of content streams are provided to the plurality of displays and a bandwidth amount is assigned to each content stream of the plurality of streams. A field of vision of the user of the XR device is determined and a subset of the plurality of displays that are in the field of vision of the user are determined. The bandwidth amount assigned to at least one of the plurality of content streams is adjusted based on the subset of the plurality of displays that are in the field of vision of the user.

    Abstract: If an overlap of two or more extended reality (XR) safe play areas, associated with active XR devices (e.g., VR devices) operating in a physical space is detected, then a combined safe area is determined based on the first and second safe areas, and a reconfigured first and second safe areas are generated for the XR devices. A virtual partition may demarcate the separation between the first and second safe areas. The virtual partition may include a buffer zone that separates the reconfigured first safe area from the reconfigured second safe area. An errant XR device may be guided back to its safe area. If a XR device is deactivated, the entire combined area may be allotted to the remaining XR device.
