摘要: A radiation image detector is provided. The radiation image detector is constituted by: a photoconductive layer that generates charges when electromagnetic waves are irradiated thereon; a common electrode to which a predetermined voltage is applied, provided on one side of the photoconductive layer; a plurality of divided electrodes that output signals corresponding to charges which are generated within the photoconductive layer, provided on the other side of the photoconductive layer; and protective layers that cover the edges of the divided electrodes, the edges being the side surfaces and portions of surfaces of the divided electrodes, which are continuous with the side surfaces, that face the photoconductive layer. The interfaces between the protective layers and the photoconductive layer are smooth surfaces across the entireties thereof.

摘要: An optical disc on which information can be recorded by recording light has a first recording layer (102) and a second recording layer (103) disposed behind the first recording layer as viewed by the recording light; the first recording layer and the second recording layer have respective power adjustment areas (P1, P2) that are used to adjust the power of the recording light to the optimal recording power at the time of recording of information on each recording layer; a prewrite area (PW) is provided in correspondence to the power adjustment area (P2) used for optimal power adjustment in the second recording layer and restricted areas (A1, A2) on both sides of that power adjustment area (P2). The restricted areas (A1, A2) allow for the diameter of the recording light beam and for lamination misalignment. This configuration enables stable test recording to be carried out in a short time on an optical disc having multiple recording layers.

摘要: The present invention relates to optical disks and optical disk devices, and has an object to reduce access time and prevent malfunction. To attain the above object, in an optical disk (100), a management information area (130) is placed inside a user data area (140), namely, at the innermost circumference position of the optical disk (100), in an information layer (101) placed at the farthest position from the surface. A position information area (132) that stores position information indicating the position of each information layer in a thickness direction of the optical disk (100) is placed in the management information area (130).

摘要: In a multilayer optical disc having information layers conforming to a plurality of different optical disc standards, because the type of each information layer is not recorded in the other information layers, in read and write operations by a compatible optical disc device conforming to a plurality of optical disc standards, every time the information layer being accessed changes, it has been necessary to read the type of the information layer and select a method of generating a tracking error signal adapted to the type of information layer, so access has taken time. In order to solve the above problem, in the optical multilayer disc according to the present invention, having information layers conforming to a plurality of different optical disc standards, in an area in one of the information layers, information about the other information layers is recorded. The time required to access the other information layers can be reduced by using this information to select a tracking error signal generating method.

摘要: A solid state radiation detector having a sub-striped electrode is provided, which is capable of effectively erasing residual images accumulating in the region adjacent to the outer edge of the first conductive layer. The detector has a planar first conductive layer; a recording photoconductive layer; a charge transport layer; a reading photoconductive layer; a striped electrode composed of multitudes of linear elements; and a sub-striped electrode composed of multitudes of linear elements. The element partly lying in the image detection area is formed to have a greater width in the non-image-detection area than in the image detection area. In addition, the element entirely lying in the region outside of the image detection area is formed to have a greater width than the width in the image detection area of the element partly lying in the image detection area.
