    摘要: An electrical component configured to engage a circuit board having a thru-hole. The thru-hole has a plated portion of conductive material that includes an outward facing contact pad. The component includes a housing having a mounting surface that is configured to be mounted to the circuit board. The component also includes an electrical contact that is coupled to the housing and projects away from the mounting surface. The contact is configured to engage the thru-hole of the circuit board. The contact includes an elongated body that extends along a contact axis to a leading end that is configured to be inserted into a passage of the plated portion. The contact also includes an engagement projection that extends away from the body and is biased against the contact pad to maintain an electrical connection.

    摘要: An electrical connector assembly includes a circuit board having signal vias extending at least partially through the circuit board, with the signal vias being arranged in pairs. The signal vias within the pair are open to each other through the circuit board and the circuit board has mounting pads exposed within the signal vias. An electrical connector is mounted on the circuit board. The electrical connector includes signal terminals extending into respective signal vias of the circuit board that are terminated to corresponding mounting pads. The signal terminals are arranged in pairs carrying differential pair signals. The signal terminals within the pair are arranged along a paddle supporting the signal terminals. The paddle is received in both signal vias of the corresponding pair of signal vias.

    摘要: A connector assembly includes a cable, a connector and a resistance weld. The cable includes a conductor and a cable shield. The connector includes a contact and a shield. The shield includes conductive walls and a cradle. The walls extend from a mating interface to the cradle and at least partially surround the contact to shield the contact from electromagnetic interference. The mating interface is configured to receive a mating connector to mate the connector and mating connector. The cradle includes sidewalls interconnected by a coupling wall. The sidewalls and coupling wall extend from a loading interface toward the mating interface and are shaped to receive the cable through the loading interface. The resistance weld is between the cable shield and the cradle to electrically couple the shield to the cable shield. The shield is electrically connected to the electrical ground by the resistance weld and the cable shield.
