Abstract:
An electrolyte sheet comprising two major surfaces, the electrolyte sheet including regions of differing compositions, so that (i) at least one of these regions has at least 1.5 times higher ionic conductivity than at least one other region; (ii) wherein the at least one other region has 20% more tetragonal phase zirconia per volume than the least one region with higher ionic conductivity; and (iii) when viewed in cross-section taken through said major surfaces at least one of the regions exhibits a non-uniform thickness.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided for changing defined user interface elements in a previously compiled program using a user interface description file without modifying the compiled program. The method includes the operation of loading the user interface description file from a storage location accessible to the compiled program. The user interface description file can contain user interface definitions and is not linked into the compiled program. The user interface description file can also be parsed to enable the user interface description file to be sent to a configurable filter in communication with the compiled program. A further operation is validating the user interface description file using the configurable filter. An additional operation is defining the compiled program's user interfaces and the interaction between the user interfaces, the compiled program, and data structures for the compiled program based on the user interface description file.
Abstract:
A holder for a replaceable container of product includes a wall mountable support member having a longitudinal dimension. A holding sleeve extends transversely to the longitudinal dimension a first distance from a first region of the support member. The holding sleeve defines a bulbous recess. A foot extends transversely to the longitudinal dimension a second distance from a second region of the support member. The second distance is less than the first distance. The foot is spaced from the holding sleeve.
Abstract:
A method of processing left and right audio signals is disclosed which reproduces the illusion of a center channel while achieving a perception by the listener of a wider speaker separation. This method is partly obtained by altering the spectral response of the left and right speaker signals to obtain left and right sets of odd and even Fourier Transforms having certain characteristics. These processed signals are re-combined with the unaltered left and right signals to produce an expanded separation image that appears to extend beyond the physical location of the actual left and right loudspeakers, and to simultaneously centralize center channel signals to a point located between the loudspeakers.
Abstract:
The system of the present invention includes, briefly, a point source speaker system, comprising a processor which produces a left minus right (L-R) audio signal, a right plus left (R+L) and a right minus left (R-L) audio signal; left, center and right speakers for audibly transmitting one of the L-R, R+L and R-L audio signals, respectively; left and right acoustically reflective surfaces proximate to the left and right speakers, respectively; and a point source speaker enclosure for housing the three speakers in a single enclosure.
Abstract:
A tricolor lighting system uses first and second dichroic filters or mirrors to separate light into different colors, primarily red, green, and blue. The light is directed into input ends of respective first, second, and third light guides for a desired end use at a remote location. Various embodiments use either paraboloid or ellipsoidal reflective surfaces associated with the light source and in selected embodiments, the first and second mirrors are disposed in a crossed relation to provide a compact system.
Abstract:
An apparatus for feeding and applying pesticides onto animals, particularly wildlife such as deer. The apparatus includes vertical support members carrying pesticide applicators which the animal contacts in the course of feeding.
Abstract:
An electronics lockout circuit including an antenna adapted to receive ra frequency signals from a transmitter, and a radio frequency detector circuit which converts the radio frequency signals into a first direct current voltage indicative of the relative strength of the field resulting from the radio frequency signals. The first direct current voltage is supplied to a trigger circuit which compares this direct current voltage to an adjustable direct current reference voltage and provides a second direct current voltage at the output thereof whenever the amplitude of the first direct current voltage exceeds the amplitude of the reference voltage. The second direct current voltage provided by the comparator circuit is supplied to a disconnect relay circuit which upon receiving a signal from the electronic control unit of an electronic combination lock during the time period the second direct current voltage is present isolates the door strike coil of a security door from the electronic control unit. This prevents signals falsely generated by the electronic control unit because of radio frequency signals in the vicinity of the electronic control unit from energizing the door strike coil and thereby accidentally opening a security door.
