Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may receive a scheduling indicator on a first instance of a control channel. The wireless device may determine that a data transmission is scheduled for the wireless device based at least in part on the received scheduling indicator. The wireless device may identify a first frequency band associated with the data transmission and a second frequency band associated with a second instance of the control channel. The wireless device may identify a third frequency band to monitor based at least in part on the first and second frequency bands and a bandwidth capability of the wireless device. The third frequency band includes the first frequency band. The third frequency band comprises an associated bandwidth that is based at least in part on the bandwidth capability of the wireless device.

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may receive information associated with a narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The apparatus may transmit a first symbol group of a first narrowband physical random access channel (NPRACH) preamble to a base station. In one aspect, a first length of the first symbol group may be associated with the narrowband TDD frame structure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for a base station transmitting to a user equipment (UE) a partial bandwidth configuration for uplink transmissions, where the partial bandwidth configuration may indicate a channel interlace and a portion of a channel bandwidth, for example, for autonomous uplink (AUL) transmissions. The base station may also transmit to the UE an AUL configuration including a group identifier. The UE may determine a starting offset with respect to an AUL subframe for a partial bandwidth transmission based on the group identifier. In some cases, different UEs may be grouped into groups of UEs allocated non-overlapping resources, and UEs allocated overlapping resources may have different starting offsets to begin transmitting. According to the determined starting offset, the UE may perform the partial bandwidth transmission over the channel interlace and the portion of the channel bandwidth.

Abstract: There is a need to support narrowband TDD frame structure for narrowband communications. The present disclosure provides a solution by supporting one or more narrowband TDD frame structure(s) for narrowband communications. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine to transmit a narrowband physical downlink channel in a subframe in a narrowband TDD frame structure of a plurality of narrowband TDD frame structures for narrowband communications. In addition, the apparatus may determine whether the subframe is a special subframe or a downlink subframe when the narrowband TDD frame structure includes one or more special subframes. Further, the apparatus may determine how to transmit a narrowband physical downlink channel based on the determination whether the subframe is a special subframe or a downlink subframe. Additionally, the apparatus may transmit the narrowband physical downlink channel.

A first wireless communication device transmits, to a second wireless communication device, a message indicating an uplink allocation in a transmission slot, the uplink allocation including an allocation size based on an allowable listen-before-talk (LBT) delay in the transmission slot. The first wireless communication device receives, from the second wireless communication device, an uplink communication signal in the transmission slot, the uplink communication signal including an uplink data portion based on the allocation size and a filler portion associated with an LBT delay in the transmission slot.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a method and apparatus for receiving a medium occupation and a resource block group (RBG) size from a gNB, wherein the radio block group size is based on a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration. In one example, UEs with smaller BWP have finer granularity in RBG size in terms of PRBs, while UEs with larger BWP may have a coarser granularity in RBG size in terms of PRBs. An additional guard band may be used if the gNB reserves some channels such that not all of the BW is occupied. For example, if the gNB reserves the 20 MHz channel, it may perform better by adding additional guard band on each side of the 20 MHz bandwidth to accommodate an adjacent channel leakage-power ratio (ACLR). Another aspect of the present disclosure relates to assigning a UE an interlace with equally spaced PRBs.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for hopping design for larger bandwidth allocations in enhanced machine type communications (eMTC). A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method generally includes receiving a resource allocation for uplink transmission in at least one subframe. The resource allocation includes a set of allocated subframes and configuration information for frequency hopping. The method includes determining allocated frequency hopped resources, within a system bandwidth, for each subframe of the set of allocated subframes. The method includes including a center resource block (RB) in addition to the determined allocated frequency hopped resources if the determined allocated frequency hopped resources include resources around the center RB. The method includes removing a last RB from the determined allocated frequency hopped resources if the determined allocated frequency hopped resources include resources around the center RB.

Abstract: Various features related to frequency hopping for broadcast/multicast transmissions for narrow band devices are described. To exploit frequency diversity, multicast transmissions may be frequency hopped. In an aspect, a UE maybe configured to receive a signal, e.g., from a base station, including at least one of a first hopping indicator indicating whether frequency hopping is enabled for a multicast control channel or a second hopping indicator indicating whether frequency hopping is enabled for a multicast traffic channel, and determine whether frequency hopping is enabled for the at least one of the multicast control or traffic channel based on the received signal. The UE may further determine at least one hopping pattern for receiving multicast transmissions in the at least one of the multicast control channel or the multicast traffic channel when the frequency hopping is enabled, and receive the multicast transmissions based on the determined at least one hopping pattern.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a control resource set configuration for transmissions using a single carrier waveform. The control resource set configuration may include one or more pilot regions and one or more control channel regions. The UE may monitor one or more of the pilot signal regions to identify pilot signals based at least in part on the control resource set configuration, and decode one or more control signals in the control channel regions based at least in part on the pilot signals. The control signals may be included in a control channel region associated with the pilot signal region or in a shared control channel region.
