Abstract:
Communication unit comprising a housing in which at least one transducer is placed, and on which a microphone arm is suspended. The housing also has means, such as an ear hook, for fastening the communication unit to the head of a user. The microphone arm is pivotally connected to the housing by a hinge link, and at an outer area of the housing, so that the microphone arm can be moved between a first position in which it lies up against the housing, and a second position in which it extends away from the housing. The microphone arm has a length, which in the main is less than or of the same order as the greatest extent of the housing, so that in the folded-in state the microphone arm does not project out over the circumference of the housing. The communication unit can be used on both the right and the left side of the head, in that the ear hook (6) can be suspended in two different positions, corresponding to the communication unit being worn on the right or the left ear, respectively.
Abstract:
An earpiece device (300) provides automatic left/right ear sensing for stereo reception as well as the ability to receive two separate and distinct channel signals. The earpiece device (300) provides an orientation indication as to which ear or channel it is coupled. A pair of such devices can be used as stereo headphones providing interchangeability between ears. The devices can also be used to receive distinct and separate channel signals. Thus, a communication system can automatically adjust a transmission to the headphone device in response to the orientation of the earpieces with minimal effort on the part of the user.
Abstract:
A headphone includes two earphones attached to a headband by flexible adjusting bands for properly positioning and orienting the earphones with respect to ears of a wearer. Each earphone has a casing inside which a front-position speaker, a rear-position speaker, a middle-position speaker between the front-position and rear-position speakers and a lower-position speaker below the front-position, rear-position and middle-position speakers are arranged. The headband forms a casing inside which two top-position speakers are mounted, respectively associated with the earphones. The speakers are arranged to generate a multi-channel surrounding sound. The headphone also forms a chamber inside which a fan is fixed for generation of airflow to remove heat from the wearer.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods related to biopotential sensing and medical monitoring are disclosed. Biopotential sensor units include a transmitter for wirelessly transmitted the biopotential information. The transmitter may be limited by its transmission power and range in order to reduce electromagnetic interference. The biopotential sensors include an external auditory canal temperature sensor, an ear pulse oximeter, and a hypnotic state sensing EEG. The sensor units communicate with a patient monitor unit located on a patient. The patient monitor unit wirelessly communicates with a central station.
Abstract:
Communication unit comprising a housing (1) in which at least one transducer is placed, and on which a microphone arm (2) is suspended. The housing also has an ear hook (6) for fastening the communication unit to the head of a user. The microphone arm (2) is pivotally connected to the housing (1) by a hinge link (3, 4, 5) at an outer area of the housing, and so that the microphone arm (2) can be moved between a position in which it lies up against the housing (1), and a position in which it extends away from the housing. The microphone arm has a length, which in the main is less than or of the same order as the greatest extent of the housing, so that in the folded-in state the microphone arm does not project out over the circumference of the housing. The communication unit can be used on both the right and the left side of the head, in that the ear hook (6) can be suspended in two different positions.
Abstract:
The handheld personal electronic device has a first body having a display, a second body having a plurality of manual inputs, the second body capable of attachment to the first body, the personal electronic device having an open position wherein the display of the first body and the manual inputs of the second body are accessibly exposed. And, the personal electronic device having a closed position wherein the display of the first body is protected by the second body and the manual inputs of the second body are accessibly exposed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a communication headset comprising an earpiece housing and a boom having at least two independent pivot points. The boom of the present invention includes a first end, a second end and a universal joint disposed between the first and second ends. The first end of the boom is pivotally attached to a portion of the earpiece housing such that the boom is rotatably adjustable in a plane parallel to a user's ear allowing a user to adjust the microphone disposed at the second end of the boom in a position relative to the user's mouth. The universal joint disposed between the first and second ends of the boom provides the user with a second pivot point such that the user can adjust the second end of the boom to at least one of a plurality of positions independent of the first end of the boom attached to the earpiece housing. The user is allowed to optimize the position of the microphone disposed at the second end of the boom by using only one hand allowing a user to use a second or free hand to perform some other desired or necessary activity.
Abstract:
Eyewear comprises a microphone and a speaker. An eyewear neck strap couples the microphone and speaker to a wearer unit carried by the eyewear wearer. The wearer unit exchanges wireless signals with a base station. The base station is coupled to various devices such as surgical theater equipment, and/or to a telecommunication system, such as a telephone system. The eyewear enables the wearer to conduct hands-free communication such as telephone conversations and command and control operations, as well as to perform other hands-free tasks such as dictation. The wearer also receives data in audio form or as an image using a video display coupled with the eyewear.

Abstract of DisclosureA retractor belt clip device which includes a retractable lead for a personal hands free kit or other similar device such as speaker leads for personal CD or tape device is disclosed. The device includes a receptacle body and corresponding flanged lug fastener which is attached to the mobile phone or like apparatus. The receptacle is adapted to be attached to a belt or the like by means of a clip means positioned on the receptacle body, wherein the body has an opening located at its top side portion into which the flange of said lug fastener is received with the lug fastener extending through a slot on said receptacle body communicating with the opening such that the mobile phone or like apparatus is positioned outside and adjacent the receptacle body when the lug fastener is received within the receptacle body. The device further includes a compartment in which a microphone and speaker lead on a spool is located, the spool being able to rotate thus releasing or retracting the lead when required.
Abstract:
An ear mike phone as a hand-free device is disclosed, in which switches and the like for supplying a power to the mike and the speaker are efficient, and therefore, the driver's driving attention can be prevented from being dissipated. The ear mike phone includes a main body part connected to a mike and a speaker, and connected to a cable to be connected to a hand phone. A switch is installed on an adjustment board of the main body part, for activating the mike and the speaker. A switch control part is provided, with its one side contacting to the switch, and with its another side projecting from a side of the main body part. Upon activation of the switch, the main body part is more firmly settled into the ear, and therefore, the ear mike phone is operated in a sure manner.
