Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit a configuration indicating a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state switching pattern and a TCI state switching period to a user equipment (UE). The UE may perform TCI state switching according to the TCI state switching pattern and period, and the UE may receive a downlink transmission according to the TCI state switching pattern. The UE may receive a downlink control information (DCI) including an indication of a TCI state for a subsequent TTI. The UE may receive the downlink signal in accordance with both the TCI state switching pattern and the indication in the DCI. The UE may receive a configuration message indicating a first DCI state, receive a DCI indicating a second TCI state for a subsequent TTI, switch to the second TCI state, and receive a downlink signal using the second TCI state.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first base station may transmit a request for a user equipment (UE) to provide a physical layer report for a second base station. The second base station may be a base station of a dual connectivity configuration, a deactivated base station of the carrier aggregation configuration, or a non-serving base station of the UE. The UE may measure transmissions of the second base station and generate, at the physical layer of the UE, a physical layer report based on the measurements. The UE may transmit the physical layer report to the first base station.

In some aspects, a user equipment may determine a dropping rule relating to: a first triggering communication, of a first transmit receive point (TRP), that triggers a first timeline for a first subsequent communication of the first TRP, and a second triggering communication, of a second TRP, that triggers a second timeline for a second subsequent communication of the second TRP, wherein the dropping rule indicates one or more communications to be dropped when the first triggering communication starts after a start of the second triggering communication and the first subsequent communication starts before a start of the second subsequent communication; and drop the one or more communications based at least in part on the dropping rule. The UE may identify a start time of a first mini-slot of the plurality of mini-slots and a length of the first mini-slot based on the resource allocation pattern, and receive the downlink transmission based on the start time of the first mini-slot and the length of the first mini-slot.

A base station may identify time and frequency resources for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) in a first transmission time interval (TTI). The base station may transmit configuration information for a control channel search space set in a second TTI. The second TTI may precede the first TTI. The configuration information may include an indication of an absence of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission to send in the control channel search space set indicating the identified time and frequency resources for the PDSCH, and a set of time and frequency resources for the control channel search space set. The UE may receive the configuration information and identify the time and frequency resources allocated for the PDSCH in the second TTI, and receive the PDSCH transmission in the second TTI.
