Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling acknowledgement and retransmission timers during sidelink discontinuous reception (DRX) communication. An example method by a transmitter user equipment (UE) generally includes transmitting a first repetition of a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) to a receiver UE prior to entering an inactive state, while the transmitter UE is operating in a sidelink discontinuous reception (DRX) mode; returning to an active state to monitor for acknowledgment feedback from the receiver UE, wherein the return is based on a first timer relative to an end of the first repetition of the PSSCH; remaining in the active state for a duration defined by a second timer; and taking one or more actions depending on whether the transmitter UE receives acknowledgment feedback during the duration indicating failed reception of the first repetition of the PSSCH by the receiver UE.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for beam failure detection and recovery. An example method of wireless communication by a user equipment generally includes detecting a beam failure associated with a reference signal from a network entity and transmitting, to the network entity before initiating a beam failure recovery procedure, a request for a beam switch in response to the detected beam failure. The method also includes receiving, from the network entity, an indication to communicate via a beam in response to the request and communicating with the network entity via the beam based on the indication.

Abstract: A UE may receive a BFD-RS and calculate, based on the BFD-RS, one or more of a value of an RSSI or at least one of a value of an SNR or a value of an RSRP, such that the UE may report a BFI based on the calculated values. The UE may initiate at least one of a total BFI timer or a consecutive BFI timer when a first BFI of a plurality of BFIs is stored, and increment at least one of a total BFI counter or a consecutive BFI counter when each of the plurality of BFIs is stored. A BFD procedure may be performed if at least one of the total BFI counter is greater than or equal to a maximum total count or the consecutive BFI counter is greater than or equal to a maximum consecutive count prior to an expiration of respective BFI timers.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure allow a base station to simultaneously send SSBs to a UE and to associate different ROs or designated subsets of preambles with the simultaneously transmitted SSBs. The base station may configure a time or frequency offset for different ROs, or a number of preamble cyclic shifts associated with the SSBs. The base station then simultaneously sends a plurality of SSBs to the UE, where each of the SSBs is associated with a different beam, and where each of the SSBs is associated with a different RO or a designated subset of preambles. After the UE simultaneously obtains the SSBs from the base station, the UE may determine the offset for one of the different ROs, or the number of preamble cyclic shifts associated with one of the SSBs. The UE may then send a preamble to the base station in response to the determination.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, and a network node may receive, capability information that indicates whether the UE supports Layer 1 or Layer 2 (L1/L2) inter-cell mobility. The network node may transmit, and the UE may receive, radio resource control signaling configuring one or more cells for L1/L2 inter-cell mobility based at least in part on the capability information. The network node may transmit, and the UE may receive, L1/L2 signaling triggering inter-cell mobility based at least in part on the capability information indicating that the UE supports L1/L2 inter-cell mobility. Numerous other aspects are described.
