A user equipment (UE) may receive a first set of one or more signals and a second set of one or more signals, the first set of one or more signals indicating a first code value associated with a physical cell identifier (PCI), and the second set of one or more signals indicating a second code value associated with the PCI. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the first code value and the second code value, a third set of one or more signals indicating a third code value associated with the PCI. The UE may communicate one or more wireless communications with a first cell according to a physical cell identity of the first cell, where the physical cell identity is encoded by the first code value, the second code value, and the third code value.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for fast physical cell identifier (PCI) conflict detection are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, via a serving cell, a first set of one or more signals indicating a first PCI of the serving cell. After receiving the first set of one or more signals, the UE may receive a control message indicating that the first PCI of the serving cell is changing to a second PCI. The UE may monitor for a second set of one or more signals indicating the second PCI based at least in part on the control message. The UE may receive the second set of one or more signals indicating the second PCI based on the control message, and communicate one or more messages with the serving cell based on the second PCI.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To save energy at the network, synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) may be transmitted in an on-demand manner. For example, the network may transmit an SSB in response to a request for an SSB or an uplink wake-up signal (WUS) from a user equipment (UE). SSBs may be mapped to corresponding random access channel occasions (ROs) via control signaling such as radio resource control or system information. For example, the described techniques provide for rules and/or signaling that may indicate whether a network entity should monitor for, and thus whether a UE may transmit, in ROs corresponding to on-demand SSBs. In some examples, a UE may transmit a request for an on-demand SSB, receive an SSB based on the request, and selectively transmit a message to the network entity in an RO corresponding to the SSB based on reception of the SSB.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The techniques described herein relate to beamforming configurations of synchronization signal blocks to reduce power consumption at a user equipment (UE) and a network entity. The UE monitors for a first set of beamformed synchronization signals including a first subset of synchronization information. The UE transmits one or more beamformed wake-up signals (WUSs) based on the monitoring for the first set of beamformed synchronization signals. The UE monitors, in response to transmitting the one or more beamformed wake-up signals, for a second set of beamformed synchronization signals including a second subset of the synchronization information. Each beamformed synchronization signal of the first set of beamformed synchronization signals corresponds to multiple beamformed synchronization signals of the second set of beamformed synchronization signals.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for wireless communication for determining the position of a wireless node. The method comprises receiving a set of reference signals from a set of at least four positioning devices, wherein the positioning devices are not arranged in a single plane. A signal propagation delay of each one of the set of reference signals is determined and a position of each one of the set of positioning devices is obtained. A convex localization problem is solved for the wireless node based at least in part on the determined signal propagation delay of each one of the set of reference signals and the position of each one of the set of positioning devices. The position of the wireless node is determined based at least in part on solving of the convex localization problem.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network-controlled repeater (NCR) node may obtain measurements related to backhaul links between the NCR node and network nodes that forward radio frequency (RF) signals through the NCR node and to an access link between the NCR node and a user equipment (UE). The end-to-end link quality between the UE and each network node may be estimated (for example, by the NCR node or a current serving cell) in accordance with the measurements and a gain and/or transmit power used to forward RF signals, and the current serving cell may use the estimated end-to-end link quality to arrive at handover decisions for the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the techniques described herein may support balancing of system usage costs with performance. For example, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a usage cost message indicating usage costs associated with each unique set of operating parameters supported by the UE, including a first set of operating parameters associated with a first usage cost and a second set of operating parameters associated with a second usage cost. Each set of operating parameters may further be associated with a respective quantity of receive beams of the UE for operating according to the respective set of operating parameters. Additionally, the UE may receive an indication for the UE to operate according to the first set of operating parameters or the second set of operating parameters based on the first usage cost and the second usage cost.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication by a UE includes receiving, from a network node, a first message indicating at least a first discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration associated with a DRX cycle at the network node. The DRX cycle may be enabled or disabled in accordance with whether the first DRX configuration is in an activated state. The method also includes receiving, from the network node, a second message indicating a group of uplink (UL) transmission configurations including at least a first UL configuration associated with the activated state of the first DRX configuration and a second UL configuration associated with the deactivated state of the first DRX configuration. The method further includes transmitting, to the network node, a third message in accordance with the first UL configuration in accordance with first DRX configuration being activated or the second UL configuration in accordance with first DRX configuration being deactivated.
