Abstract:
A telephone headset utilizing a foldable microphone boom that is operable in both noise canceling and omnidirectional modes is disclosed. The headset generally comprises a main body, a boom extending between a pivoting end and a microphone housing for housing a two-port microphone, and a pivoting hinge coupling the pivoting end of the boom to the main body and enabling the boom to rotate about the pivoting hinge relative to the main body. The boom is adapted to be positioned in a first extended position in which the microphone is located away from the main body and both ports are open and a second folded position in which the microphone housing is at least partially in contact with the main body to generally close one of the ports.
Abstract:
In a communication recording system using a headset with a radio communication function which transmits the first speech signal and receives the second speech signal by radio communications, the headset is provided with a time information acquisition unit for acquiring a time information indicating occurrence times of the first speech signal and the second speech signal, an information production unit for producing a recording information to be stored in which the time information is set in correspondence to the first speech signal and the second speech signal, and a memory unit for storing the recording information.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a cable-connectable stereo headset. The cable-connectable stereo headset includes a first headphone containing a Bluetooth® enabled module and a second headphone connected to the first headphone by a cable. In a voice communication mode, the second headphone may be kept separate from the first headphone while only the first headphone is used, thereby providing for convenient voice communication. Further, in a music listening mode, the second headphone is connected to the first headphone again to provide stereo sound. The first headphone has a communication on/off key which can enable voice communication even when the portable terminal is not being directly operated when answering a call. The first headphone further includes function keys for replaying and stopping sound medium, controlling volume of the sound medium and selecting music. Thus, a multimedia device including a portable terminal can be conveniently operated by using the first headphone even if the multimedia device is not being directly operated.

Abstract:
A triple-axis rotation type headset is described herein that preferably uses a Bluetooth™ module in a main housing that has a first hinge axis longitudinally extended therethrough, and has a rotating housing rotatably attached to the main housing. The rotating housing is rotated about the first hinge axis. To the rotating housing is rotatably attached a connecting member having a second hinge axis longitudinally extended therethrough. The connecting member is rotated about the second hinge axis. The second hinge axis is spaced apart from the first hinge axis. The headset further comprises a hanging member having a third hinge axis provided at one end thereof. The end of the hanging member is rotatably attached to one end of the connecting member about the third hinge axis. The third hinge axis is perpendicular to the second hinge axis. The triple-axis rotation type headset provides improved contact between the headset and an ear of a user of the headset, and convenient key manipulation.
Abstract:
Communication unit comprising a housing in which at least one transducer is placed, and on which a microphone arm is suspended. The housing also has means, such as an ear hook, for fastening the communication unit to the head of a user. The microphone arm is pivotally connected to the housing by a hinge link, and at an outer area of the housing, so that the microphone arm can be moved between a first position in which it lies up against the housing, and a second position in which it extends away from the housing. The microphone arm has a length, which in the main is less than or of the same order as the greatest extent of the housing, so that in the folded-in state the microphone arm does not project out over the circumference of the housing. The communication unit can be used on both the right and the left side of the head, in that the ear hook (6) can be suspended in two different positions, corresponding to the communication unit being worn on the right or the left ear, respectively.
Abstract:
This invention is a wireless communication device, for example a hands-free speakerphone accessory for a mobile telephone, that includes a pair of flexible elongated tubular members capable of attaching to the stems of eyeglasses. When the apertures or lumens in the flexible elongated tubes are attached to the stems of eyewear, the wireless communication device acts both as a wireless communication device and as an eyewear retainer. An adjustable clasp member and second clasp member mounted on the flexible tubular members allow the wireless communication device to form a closed loop, so as to be mounted on a user's neck, or other object, like a sun visor or steering wheel of an automobile. In one embodiment, at least one loudspeaker is coupled to one of the tubular members, while a low-profile microphone is coupled to the other tubular member.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a hinge unit for a compact headset, which includes a speaker housing and a microphone housing, and which can be worn on the user's ear. The hinge unit comprising: a pair of opposed side hinge arms provided in the speaker housing at one side thereof; a central hinge arm provided in the microphone housing and assembled between the side hinge arms; and a current-carrying means having a pair of first current-carrying hinge members provided in the side hinge arms, and a pair of second current-carrying hinge members provided in the central hinge arm between the first current-carrying hinge members to slidingly surface contact with the first current-carrying hinge members, allowing the speaker housing and the microphone housing to be fully detached, both mechanically and electrically.
Abstract:
A headset (1, 10, 30) e.g. for use in connection with wireless communication by means of Bluetooth technology in connection with mobile telephones, PSTN telephones and the like, which comprises a housing (2, 3, 11, 28) with a transducer (5, 12, 27) in the form of a speaker, as well as a microphone (4, 14, 29) and an ear hook (6, 23, 28). In a first embodiment, the housing may be constructed as two shells (2, 3) which may be opened and closed so that all mechanical parts may be concealed on the housing when the headset (1, 10, 30) is not in use, thereby ensuring that the various parts are not damaged when the headset is stored in a pocket. The shells (2, 3) may be interconnected by means of a hinge (7, 8) which has an axis disposed in the same plane as the surface of the shells. Alternatively, the shells may be arranged such that the axis is disposed in a perpendicular plane relative to the surface of the shells. In a second embodiment, the housing (11, 28) is formed by a closed housing from which the ear hook (23, 31) and/or the microphone 13, 26) may be moved in or out. The invention provides a headset (1, 10, 30) which is extremely easy to use, and where all mechanical and electrical parts are well protected when the headset is not used. Furthermore, all embodiments may be provided with a lock which may be mechanical and/or electrical, which ensures that only the right user can use the headset.
