    Abstract: Repeated signals for narrowband internet of things (NB-IoT) and machine type communication (MTC) may be transmitted using various non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) techniques. A user equipment (UE) may generate a set of modulated symbols associated with the data stream, spread the set of symbols using a spreading factor, and may subsequently apply a scrambling sequence to the set of symbols. The spread and scrambled symbols may be transmitted as a time domain waveform that includes one or more repetitions of a transmission time interval (TTI) or a resource unit (RU). Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may perform rate matching and apply the scrambling sequence to achieve the repetitions of the TTIs or RUs. In some cases, the UE may transmit a set of orthogonal pilot signals with the repetitions of the TTIs or RUs, where the pilot signals include different cyclically shifted versions of a base pilot signal.

    Abstract: Adjacent channel leakage-power ratio (ACLR) can be reduced at a transmitter of a device. A modulated signal can be mapped into a plurality of tone sets in a frequency domain, wherein the plurality of tone sets include a first, a second, and a third set of tones. The first and the third set of tones can be converted in the frequency domain to a fourth and a fifth set of tones, respectively, in a time domain. A zero padding of one or more symbols associated with the fourth and the fifth set of tones can be performed to output a sixth and a seventh set of tones, respectively. The sixth and the seventh set of tones can be converted to an eighth and a ninth set of tones, respectively, in the frequency domain. The eighth and the ninth set of tones can be processed for transmitting to another wireless device.

    Abstract: A new design for an uplink control channel is provided. A User Equipment (UE) determines, based on a tone mapping pattern from a plurality of tone mapping patterns for an uplink control channel, resources for transmitting the uplink control channel, and transmits the uplink control channel using the determined resources. A Base Station (BS) determines a tone mapping pattern from a plurality of tone mapping patterns for an uplink control channel, and transmits information regarding the determined tone mapping pattern to at least one UE. The BS receives the uplink control channel based on the tone mapping pattern.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a resource spread multiple access scheme is enabled, wherein the bit and/or symbol level resource spreading happens in time and/or frequency domain through bits or symbol level repetition and spreading. Furthermore, the UE may process bits of codewords and modulated symbols using a set of spreading sequences and a set of scrambling sequences.     Abstract: Transmit diversity schemes may be used for sending sequence-based signals over multiple antennas. For example, a user equipment (UE) may determine an uplink sequence to be transmitted to a base station using multiple antennas. The UE may utilize a transmit diversity scheme for the multiple-antenna transmission of the uplink sequence, where the transmit diversity scheme utilized may be based on a number of symbol periods during which the sequence is transmitted. In accordance with the transmit diversity scheme, the UE may use multiple transmit antennas to transmit different sequences from respective antennas. In other examples, the UE may transmit the uplink sequence using different time or frequency resources. Additionally, the UE may use some combination of different transmit diversity schemes for sequence-based signals. In some aspects, the base station may provide an indication of the transmit diversity scheme that the UE is to use for transmitting the uplink sequence.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may indicate to a base station the number of uplink (UL) component carriers (CCs) that the UE is capable of supporting. A base station may configure the UE for carrier aggregation (CA) and for one or more auxiliary UL CCs. The CA configuration may include CCs for UL data transmissions and the auxiliary UL configuration may include CCs for UL reference signals or random access channel transmissions. The auxiliary UL CCs may thus be used for sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions even if the UE is otherwise not configured for UL data transmissions on those CCs. UL data transmissions on the CA carriers may be sent at the same time as SRS transmissions or during different transmission time intervals (TTIs), depending on UE capability.
