    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a resource allocation indicating a set of transmission tones comprising a set of data tones and a set of peak reduction tones (PRTs), wherein the resource allocation indicates locations for the set of data tones and locations for the set of PRTs within a particular bandwidth, wherein the locations for the set of PRTs are arranged relative to the locations for the set of data tones according to a PRT sequence, and wherein the PRT sequence comprises a plurality of contiguous PRTs arranged relative to a plurality of contiguous data tones or a pseudo-random pattern generated using a pseudo-random number generator; and transmit a data transmission using a waveform based at least in part on the resource allocation. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Handling of asynchronous multi-carrier is discussed. In new radio (NR) fifth generation (5G) networks, the potential for provision of multi-carrier operations (e.g., carrier aggregation (CA), dual connectivity (DC), etc.) that include asynchronous component carriers (CCs) has been proposed. However, because of the asynchronous relationship network entities, such as base stations and user equipments (UEs) will manage the asynchronous CCs by obtaining timing offset information, either through derivation or direct signaling, and determining a subframe correspondence based on the timing offset relative to a reference CC. By determining the subframe correspondence to the reference CC, the base stations and UEs can accurately map communications over the asynchronous CCs to the appropriate subframes across CCs.

    Abstract: Wireless devices may exchange data related to multiple available random access procedures for network access. A random access procedure of the available random access procedures may be selected, and a random access message transmitted based on the selected random access procedure. Available random access procedures may include procedures that provide for a different number of random access messages or that are for use in communications having different transmission time intervals (TTIs). The available random access procedures may include a contention-based random access procedure, in which an initial random access message may include a payload. In some examples, a number of random access resources may be provided within different frequency resources available to provide efficient usage of a channel bandwidth.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for reduced timing between certain downlink communications and responsive uplink communications relative to certain legacy systems (e.g., legacy LTE systems). A user equipment (UE) or base station may be capable of operating using two or more timing configurations that each include an associated time period between receipt of a downlink communication (e.g., a grant of uplink resources or shared channel data) and a responsive uplink communication (e.g., an uplink transmission using the granted uplink resources or feedback of successful reception of the shared channel data). In cases where a UE or base station are capable of two or more timing configurations, a timing configuration for a transmission may be determined and the responsive uplink communication transmitted according to the determined timing configuration.
