The present invention provides a liquid crystal display with a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit includes two sub-pixels, and each sub-pixel includes a thin film transistor, a liquid crystal capacitor and a storage capacitor. One of the storage capacitors is a tunable capacitor. The tunable capacitor includes a first conductive layer, an insulating layer, a semiconductor layer with a area Asem, and a second metal layer. The second conductive layer has a first region with a area Acon overlapping with the semiconductor layer. The area Acon is less than the area Asem.

Methods for determining the state of memory cells include using an asymmetric sense amplifier. The methods include sensing the voltages on bit line (BL) and bit line bar (BLB) signals by coupling the BL to a first output node of an imbalanced cross-coupled latch (ICL), the ICL outputting a logic low value if the a difference between the a voltage on the BL and a voltage on the BLB exceeds a threshold. Sensing the voltages includes providing at least a first and a second pull down field effect transistor (FET) each having a channel coupled between the first and second output nodes and a ground node, respectively, in a cross coupled arrangement, wherein the second pull down FET has a channel width that is greater than a channel width of the first pull down FET. A color liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display element and a backlight unit. The liquid crystal display element includes a color filter having a red filter segment, a green filter segment, and a blue filter segment. The red filter segment is prepared from a red photosensitive resin composition which includes a pigment combination, an alkali-soluble resin, a compound having an ethylenic group, and a photoinitiator. The pigment combination includes an azo-based red pigment and an anthraquinone-based red pigment. A weight ratio of the azo-based red pigment to the anthraquinone-based red pigment ranges from 20/80 to 80/20. The backlight unit is coupled to the liquid crystal display element and has a color temperature ranging from 6,000 K to 20,000 K.

A phosphorus functionalized poly(aryl ether ketone) developed by using 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide (DOPO) to modify a poly(aryl ether ketone) is provided. The phosphorus functionalized poly(aryl ether ketone) can include reactive functional groups, such as hydroxy, amino, and carboxyl groups for further modification.

The invention provides methods of driving a pixel and liquid crystal display panels implementing the methods. The invention generates an ideal data voltage corresponding to a gray level of the pixel, and generates a compensated data voltage corresponding to the gray level according to a polarity change of the pixel. The charging period of the pixel is divided into a first charging time segment and a second charging time segment. The invention charges the pixel by the compensated data voltage during the first charging time segment, and charges the pixel by the compensated data voltage during the second charging time segment.

A surface capacitive touch panel, a driving method thereof, a display apparatus using the same, and an electronic apparatus using the same are provided. The surface capacitive touch panel includes a substrate, a conductive film, and a plurality of driving sensing electrodes. The conductive film is formed on the substrate. The conductive film has an anisotropy of impedance to define a lower impedance direction and a higher impedance direction. The driving sensing electrodes are disposed on at least one side of the conductive film and the at least one side is substantially perpendicular to the lower impedance direction. The surface capacitive touch panel of the invention has high positioning accuracy. The touch sensing accuracy of the display apparatus and the electronic apparatus using the surface capacitive touch panel is also desirable.

The invention discloses a cross-linked epoxy resin with flame-retardant properties and method for producing the same. The polymeric material of the invention includes an epoxy resin, a curing agent and a modification agent. Particularly, the modification agent is a derivative of 9,10-Dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide (DOPO). Moreover, the curing agent is 4,4′-diaminodiphenyl methane (DDM), or tris(4-aminophenyl)amine (NNH).
