    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a base station may develop a number of different predictive models for each of a number of different functions. The different functions may be used to determine various beamforming parameters for beamformed communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station. The base station may provide the models to a UE, and the UE may then use such models to determine values for one or more beamforming parameters. A same function (e.g., a beam prediction function to identify a transmit/receive beam for communications) may have multiple different models, which may be provided to the UE by the base station, which may be used based on particular channel conditions or locations of a UE. The UE or base station may select which model of the multiple predictive models is to be used for communications.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are disclosed by the present disclosure. In an example, a user equipment (UE) communicates with a base station on different uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) beam paths. In the example, the UE may indicate to the base station a preferred beam path to use. The UE may indicate the preferred beam path in response to an explicit request from the base station or without an explicit request. The use of different UL/DL beam paths allow beam paths which avoid interference from a user of the UE to be used.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit to a base station an indication of a UE capability associated with a beam change at the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station during a scheduling slot, a control signal including a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) and a grant for a transport block over a first slot aggregation including a set of slots. In some cases, each slot of the first slot aggregation is offset from the scheduling slot according to a scheduling constraint based on the indicated UE capability. The UE may transmit or receive the transport block over the first slot aggregation using a UE beam based on the TCI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A device, such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) from multiple transmit-receive points (mTRPs). The set of SSB may include a first subset of SSBs associated with a first TRP and a second subset of SSBs associated with a second TRP. Each SSB may correspond to a respective directional beam (e.g., a transmit beam, a receive beam). The UE may transmit, to a base station, an indication of a selected first SSB from the first subset of SSBs associated with the first TRP and a selected second SSB from the second subset of SSBs associated with the second TRP. The UE may perform a random access channel procedure with the base station, the first TRP, the second TRP, or a combination thereof based on the transmitted indication.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, such as a base station and a user equipment (UE) may communicate in a full duplex mode. The base station may transmit, to the UE, an indication of a configuration of a set of aggregated slots for wireless communications in the full duplex mode. The UE or the base station, or both, may determine a first beam pair for communications during a first subset of the aggregated slots. The UE or the base station, or both, may determine a second beam pair for communications during a second subset of the aggregated slots. The UE or the base station, or both, may communicate the wireless communications using the first beam pair during the first subset of aggregated slots and the second beam pair during the second subset of aggregated slots.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect of the disclosure, a user equipment (UE) detects a beam failure of a first beam for a first component carrier (CC) based on a link quality associated with the first beam for the first CC. The first CC and a second CC are within a same group of CCs. The UE initiates one or more beam failure recovery operations associated with any CC within the same group of CCs as the first and second CCs based on a determination of a beam failure of a second beam for the second CC. The determination is based on the detection of the beam failure for the first CC and based on the first CC and the second CC being within the same group of CCs.

    Abstract: In multi-beam communication, the UE may assist in the scheduling of beams utilized during the multi-beam communication by improving the manner in which the quality of the beam is reported to the network. The apparatus may measure a signal received from a base station on at least one beam. The apparatus may detect a triggering event for providing CSI for the at least one beam. The apparatus may transmit an uplink transmission comprising a CSI report in response to detecting the triggering event. The apparatus may receive an uplink request from a UE for providing CSI for at least one beam. The apparatus may transmit an indication scheduling a CSI report in response to the uplink request. The apparatus may receive an uplink transmission from the UE comprising the CSI report for the at least one beam.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may perform path-loss estimation to support uplink transmit power control. The UE may perform path-loss estimations on path-loss reference signals configured by a base station. In some cases, the base station may update (e.g., activate, deactivate, or both) particular path-loss reference signals using a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). The UE may determine which path-loss reference signal or signals to use for path-loss estimation based on one or more techniques. For example, the UE may filter path-loss measurements over a time duration or may use a single, unfiltered path-loss measurement for path-loss estimation. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive deactivated path-loss reference signals (e.g., for a set amount of time or for any amount of time) or may refrain from receiving deactivated path-loss reference signals.
