Abstract: A method of determining a performance metric for a selection of a first user and a second user among a set of candidate users for attribution to a sub-band in a multiple access communications system based on Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), is provided wherein the first user (k1) and the second user (k2) are selected as the pair of candidate users corresponding to an extremum of the ratio between a first term reflecting the total throughput achievable by any pair of the candidate users assigned to the sub-band (s) under consideration, and a second term reflecting the known throughput achieved by that same pair of candidate users over a predetermined preceding period. Implementations include a method of determining a performance metric is presented for attributing users to one or more of a plurality of sub-bands in a multiple access communications system, wherein in an initial assignment phase for a specific sub-band, a first user is selected for that band on the basis of one or more criteria such as user priority. Then a second sub-band user maximizing or minimizing the performance metric.

Abstract: Systems and associated methods of performing coherent optical communication of quantum information between an emitter A and a distant receiver B are provided, using a local local oscillator. Examples of LLO-based Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution are described. Self-coherent schemes are used, the schemes consisting in deriving both signal and phase reference pulses from the same optical pulse thus ensuring an intrinsic strong signal to reference phase coherence. Different CV-QKD designs implementing various self-coherence phase sharing schemes are described and compared in terms of secret key rate and hardware requirements. Strong phase noise resilience can be obtained with standard telecom equipment such as low cost lasers.

Abstract: A method is provided for detecting the presence of an anomaly within an observed physical signal. The observed signal includes an addition of a physical disturbance signal and a reference signal. The anomaly is relative to a change in the behavior of the reference signal compared with a first tolerance value. Such a method includes: determining a time span having at least one moment of interest; detecting the presence of the anomaly within the observed physical signal during the time span by conducting a hypothesis test using the first tolerance value, a first rate of tolerated false alarms, and data obtained from processing the observed signal.

Abstract: The present invention proposes a rapid, reliable data extraction method for extracting data from a database of data (3) that is watermarked according to a reversible watermarking method. The method according to the invention consists of obtaining, from a first extraction request received from a client terminal (1), a second extraction request (R2) for extracting watermarked data and a third request (R3) applied to the extracted data after it has been de-watermarked. In the presence in the first extraction request of initial selection conditions relating to watermarked properties, these are included in the second request after having been transformed. In the presence in the first extraction request (R1), of aggregation functions relating to a watermarked extraction property, these are included without modification in the third request (R3) so as to supply a result to the client terminal (1) in response to the first extraction request (R1).

Abstract: The invention relates to a MAP decoding method of a signal received through a noisy channel, the signal being composed of symbols in an alphabet having a non-uniform probability distribution, the symbols being represented by points in a lattice (Λ). The probability distribution of symbols is modeled using a Gaussian distribution. An augmented lattice (Λexp) is formed from the lattice (Λ) and the ratio (β) between variance of the noise and variance of the Gaussian distribution of symbols. Therefore, the disclosed MAP decoding method consists essentially of decoding using an ML criterion searching the point in the augmented lattice closest to the point representative of the received signal (yexp).
